I am expecting our team to come out and correct some of the mistakes that they have commited last night. the Griz are still in shock with Hubbie's retirement, and they are not playing good basketball right now. However, they are still a very dangerous team. Marburry should continue to play his game, he needs to continue to pass the ball to open shooters because that is when we are at our best. Who ever we have on the court as starters should bring their (A) game and help us continue that winning streak. New York pride baby.

again the crow with the minutes...

our starters have logged heavy minutes yesterday night. we have to shorten the game or we won't keep up with the grizzlies.

our chance is that they're kind of in disarray (spelling ?).

Memphis should be fun to watch. Miller had a strong game last night and is very entertaining when he's on. JWill is one of my favorite players flat out and I'm always intrigued with Gasol's style of play as well. Bonzi is a total wild card. i'm also eager to see Swift in the Garden. Whatever the entertainment factor I want the outcome to be like last night's.

It's hard to believe that Memphis is only 5-10 this year.

I'm hoping we come out tonight with some fire and passion, I know we'll probly gonna be a little tired but Memphis also played last night which is good...on sportsline.com it says Jayson Williams is questionable, but I'm sure he'll play. Time for some revenge on the Grizz, they embarrassed us last year at MSG.

there are some bad matchups for us in this game, namely Gasol and Swift. Marbury has to decide to play some D. I think you will see a fair dose of Ariza, Sweetney, Brewer and JYD tonight. Probably for 20 minutes each.. give or take.

I am going to see how good of a coach Lenny is tonight.

So far this season at MSG, the crowd has provided the Knicks with the added motivation that Lenny doesn't provide them on the road. They are 2 different teams. At home they play defense, and genuinely play as a team. On the road, they stand around on both ends of the court admiring the other team as they get whopped. According to that pattern, I expect a good performance tonight.

Most teams in the NBA play great at home and very tentatively on the road. This is because of parity and also comfort level. I don't think its fair to single out the Knicks as not being good on the road. Look at road records around the league. Very few teams are even .500.

That said, Memphis is a terrible matchup for the Knicks. Stro, Gasol, Posey, Miller and Jay Will (is he injured still, he didn't play last night?) are all tough.

One thing that gives me hope for tonight is that Seattle, another jump shooting finesse team like NYK, beat Memphis twice.

There's a difference between losing the road and getting beat up on the road. The Knicks have been the latter. On the road, we've been fried, toasted, boiled, and then cooked. We've still managed to win some, but on the road so far, we've pretty much folded when the going gets tough.

Are you serious? They played Minnesota and Dallas to a stand still. They played Houston to a stand still. They played Indiana quite well, and lost by six. San Antonio made them look bad, but they are the best team in the league by far. Their only wretched road loss was to Toronto who was coming off beating San Antonio, and who just last night beat Miami. By fair, man. They've lost some tough road games and played well in 5 out of 7 of them.

You're right. They did play those teams to a "stand still." They stood still while Nowitzki, etc. kept scoring. A little defensive effort and they could have won those games, not that I expect this bunch to. Anyway, I don't expect such problems at home.

At some point, we are going to have to start winning the 2nd game of back to backs on a semi-consistent basis.

that was the layden-chaney era when we never won the 2nd game. They've done it with isiah-lenny. They've been a great home team lately so they have a great chance tonight despite having to go into overtime yesterday.

Memphis is a good team, my second favorite as a matter a fact (bet you can't guess the first ), but their record is surprising me. 5-10 from a team I still see as a 50 win team out west.
A win tonight should not go underrated.

My prediction: Knicks win, 104-97.

If you are expecting them to waltz into Dallas, Indiana, San Antonio and Minnesota and play better than they did against four of the top six teams in the entire league - you are expecting too much from this team. I know they're exciting, but you have to realize, they are very, very young and have only been playing together for two months and are still missing their best shooter. They are going to get better and to fault them for playing bad defense when they don't even have a passable backup center and they have a positive rebound, steal, field goal attempt and turnover differential is frankly ridiculous.
