Was fooling with some trade ideas on the machine —- initially was wondering if #s might work in a Mikal for 2 Houston kids (say Whitmore and Eason) but $ aren’t even close because Mikal makes too much.

Also no idea if Houston would move both Eason/Cam with Mikal extension upcoming.

But while playing with trades Whitmore for Deuce worked straight up - which intrigues me.

Not sure if Houston would do that but for us Whitmore would give us a more volatile off the dribble scorer with more size vs Deuce (basically a legit wing).

Figure we could find a Deuce replacement in FA with guys like Trent Jr., Kennard or maybe a Merrill, etc…etc.

Who would trade Deuce for Whitmore?

Not sure when Whitmore deal needs to be re-done.

We can trade our next first rounder now. My question is how does Cam fit into a winning environment. There was a reason why his minutes were inconsistent in Houston. I would have definitely done this trade a year ago. Now, I don't think the team has enough patience for another Cam Reddish situation.

I’m intrigued but not trading anything significant for him.

Deuce for Cam makes a ton of sense actually.

On paper it does for both teams. But we are in win-now position and can’t take that risk, despite the upside.

A risk would be trading Mikal for a package of Jabari & Cam etc. Swapping Deuce for Cam isn't much of a risk.

Whitmore feels like Reddish 2.0.

That said if he is surplus to Houston, how the heck did Phoenix not ask for him in the KD deal

Nah, Reddish in 28mins would only nab like 3-4 rebs while shooting 40% or under from the field and 30% from three.

Whitmore seems more like Miles Bridges from Charlotte.

Suns have Booker, Green, Beal, Brooks cover the wings. No room for a Cam. The #10 pick made more sense for them which they drafted a needed Center. Before they made the move for Williams.

This is where I am but folks expressing some concern over Cam also have a point ---- not sure if he is a dud or a future stud but assuming Brunson/Hart/Mikal Nova connection might be good leaders for young guy with talent.

He fell to 20th in the draft rumored because of a degenerative knee condition.
He has yet to hit 20 years old.
Anyone have any idea about this? The kid did a year at 'Nova and maybe not all players from the program are part of the brotherhood? Maybe he is a jerk?
Oh wait, he is NOT a client of CAA!!!!

The knee was an issue. I think there were rumors about him lighting up after a workout. The big issue for me was that he had twice as many turnovers as assists at Villanova. He's young and talented, but he clearly had things to figure out. I'm just curious how much progress he's made towards playing winning basketball.
