Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet.
Sad to hear of him passing from complications from Cancer.

Yeah... this was in a couple of threads. Very sad. Al was a fan like the rest of us. And he made every game feel like a big time event.

RIP Al.

Was in one of the other threads, but he certainly deserves his own. He was the Pillar of MSG coverage for 25-30 years. On every show, every sport. I had wondered where he was for the last 3-4 years he didn't appear on MSG. Still was a big presence in NBC olympics coverage etc.

Very few reporters were as versatile, covering mainstream and more obscure sports. And very few were as good at delivering a monologue or narrative story. Whether it was intro'ing a big Knick game or talking about a Marathon runner.

RIP AL, a New York Sports legend.

Tough week - Gene Hackman, Michelle Trachtenberg, Roberta Flack

Trachtenberg objectively not quite on that Mt Rushmore, but anyone who watched the move EUROTRIP might beg to differ!

Rest in Peace Al. Great memories watching Knicks games which Al Trautwig covered. One of the great NY broadcasters.
