Josh Hart has a career-best effective field goal percentage of 61%, up from 49.3% last season. That’s the biggest jump by a wide margin among 85 players with at least 500 field goal attempts in each of the last two seasons.

Josh Hart has been as big a factor as anyone behind the Knicks’ success.

He ranks third in the league in assist ratio among players on the floor for at least 30 minutes per game. Hart is behind Trae Young and Tyrese Haliburton on that list. He is 12th in total rebounds. At 6-4, Hart is at least five inches shorter than the 11 players ahead of him on the list. His rebounds can turn into transition opportunities for the Knicks. New York is averaging 1.21 points per play when Hart has the ball in transition. They are scoring points 60 percent of the time he has the ball in transition.

Points per game?
is it one season over the other or do they look at career? He did have a season like this a few years ago before he go there. 14 or so pts per game.
Draft Kings vs. Who gives the award out? What don't we know?

Its gonna be Cade's award, but Josh should be recognized for something...

I know Josh Hart has proven to have a sixth gear in his transmission this year, but come on. He was on Team USA. He hasn't snuck up anyone

I am not sure I'd give it to Cade either. Wasn't the expectation that he'd be good, considering his draft position?

Norman Powell, to me, is the exact type of guy that should win MIP. Drafted in the middle of the second round. Dropped 41 last week. Was anyone expecting that when they drafted him?

MIP is about the biggest jump not expectations in my opinion.
When Randle won it after his first year here the only real huge jump was 3pt shooting %. From .277 to .411%
He was a 1st round pick at number 7 after a one and done year at Kentucky.
What was it that got him the award? Basically he carried a team that accomplished a nice jump and became an Allstar/All NBA.
Powell has that blue collar thing so its appealing were cade was a blue chip top pick.
Josh Hart assists are up nice as are his reobunding. Maybe he should be mentioned but as said, he was on Team USA and perhaps has been playing at this level for some time.
Perhaps when presented with being on a team with two Allstars and two very good wings its could be a function of his teammates that is keeping him out of the conversation.
Add some knick bias as fans? A little perhaps?

I'm guessing MIP is like ROY and 6MOY where the only stat anyone looks at is PPG. Josh hasn't had a huge jump.
I'm happy to see Josh become the player we all wished Randle would be.

Yeah, it usually goes to a guy who has a minutes jump or stretch of health that inflates his counting stats. I'm guessing it's going to be Cade.

Yes Cade was no.1 pick, but this was a "leap" year for him and he has helped turned Detroit from laughing stock to playoff team. Almost every part of his game has made a jump. Norman Powell deserves to be up there with him too. Maybe Dyson Daniels (but he will be more of a contender for DPOY)
