This has to be killing him, he's the most athletic PF we have, but he doesn't do anything well, and benching him only sinks he's confindence in to new depths.

Whats left for him to do?? Maybe they should package him at this point.

shouldn't have signed him in the first place. Signing him in order to replace Deke is just flat out stupid. They should've used to the money on a guy who can block at least 1.5 shots a game

Signing him looks to me like Isiah's one mistake over the offseason (unless it was just a favor that he had to do for his agent who worked so hard to get us Crawford). I wish we had a team option on the 2nd year of his contract so that it would be an expiring contract right now.

Baker will be valuable by mid-point of the season. The problem is that we have too many other guys that are playing better at this point, and having him in the lineup would not be beneficial to us winning games. However, somewhere during the season, he will be called upon to play.

Here is another reason for the signing, Lebron James......

this is one I was very wrong about. I thought Baker would be a good contributor off the bench.
Lenny has said over and over if you defend well you will get a lot of playing time. Baker's interior D wasnt even bad. Bad suggests it was there at all.

using his $ on Chris Anderson would have been a much better choice.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Chris Anderson is white,

And do Crawfords agent a favor, yeah we did that by signing him to more than any other team offered by a land slide. And there is not way Lebron will leave Cleveland.

Even though he would make himself 100 million in endorsements if he decided to come to NY. They are going to sign Michael Redd this summer and be set. Redd wants to be noticed, Lebron needs a sidekick

Yeah but then most people think IT his coaching this team through lenny. So if IT was so big on signing him, why isn't he big on playing him. And while sweets isn't giving us a whole lot to run home and tell the wife, kids and cousins. They need to split some minutes up between them. I thought basketball was all about match ups more so then any other sport, and i'm sure in the last 12 games they could have squeeze him him there posible with a frontcourt of JYD, VIN and ARIZA.

I would have liked to sign him too but he apparently was anxious to play in the south near Texas where he is from.I have to admit I thought Baker would be a bigger factor as well but like someone said, its still early and injuries or poor play could make him valuable.

there's no room for Baker unless you're going to bench Sweetney for the entire game instead and that SHOULD never be the case.

I beleive that IT signed Vin for 2 reasons.

1. As an agreement with Jamal's agent to get the deal done.
2. PR move. Vin is a recovering alcoholic and would be a feel good story if he succeeds. Remember all those articles about Dolan being a recovering alcoholic and ITs brother dying for this disease.

I personally don't have a problem with him right now. Just don't put him in when the game is on the line. He can be our present day Greg Butler.

The problem is our team's biggest need is defense, and he doesn't know how to play it. We have enough suspect defensive players ahead of him in the rotation. Keep him to garbage time unless we really need a spark.

Well it's turning out to be sad story. He hasn't had any success, and there isn't anything to feel good about when your nail to the bench.

Put him in a situation where he can be successfull.

We are more successful when he doesn't play. If the team is successful, let that be his success!

Yup. Plus, he is getting the best treatment money can buy. He is also getting close to MLE type money. It's a feel good story for his family.

You guy's are joking right.

This guy has enough money to feed his family for the rest of his life if he doesn't earn another penny after today.

If he plays well, or at all for the matter ( which every single player wants to do no matter who he is) and has a great season, then thats motivation for all recovering addicts. Depression leads to drinking and doing drugs, same as too much success at one time.

What...are they testing his will power. I personally think he can contribute at times, (not garbage minutes) sweets can't guard the likes of KG, duncun, oneal, or dirk, and since the the first game of the season, he hasn't seen 1 quality minute of playing time. Even while TT has been playing like a 12th man.

I'm not too upset about the signing. Who could have guessed that Kurt and Nazr would both be playing so well?
