is the amount of time our starters (KT, marb and craw) spend on the court,a s they already all spend more than 35 min on.

houston return alone should help though. I'd like to keep marb fresh and rested from his olympic play this summer.

I want Sweetney to get at least 25 minutes/game, and Ariza to get at least 15 minutes/game.

I don't care how much minutes players get as long as they produce. Sweets has not been producing as of late and he makes to many mismatches against quicker PF's he still needs to lose more weight and become quicker on his feet to come near his potential until that time he will get spot minutes unless the mismatch is in his favor.

Sweetney's not playing well enough to get minutes ahead of Kurt, Nazy, or JYD, and there's not many left over for him after that. His play has gone down since the hand injury.
Also, we simply can't afford to play Marbury less minutes. The team struggles when he's off the floor. Maybe that will change if Houston returns.
Crawford's young; I don't mind him playing 35 mpg.

what I would like to be improved

their W-L record...as long as that improves, i don't really mind who gets minutes & who doesn't other than Sweetney so we can see his true potential & get his trade value up for other teams.

marb has already played a lot. using him too much in november to win meaningless games will have him tired at the end of the season, when it counts.

that's not as unimportant as it seems. as fans, we're not the ones running every night after the ball.

There's no such thing as a meaningless game. If you treat the games now as meaningless, you won't even be in the playoff race at the end of the season "when it counts."

please don't talk as you couldn't read between the lines when you actually can.

no game is meaningless, i'm with you on this. yet, we have to preserve marbury from a potential breakdown during the year.

most of guys who had played in the olympics during summer happened to have various injuries during the following season.

ignoring that just to win a game against the hawks will lead us nowhere.

we'll be in the playoffs, even if he plays under 35 min during the season.

Actually it will be a lot easier for our vets to get rest later in the season. The thing with KT, Marb and Crawford (and now Nazr) is they are the 4 that have the best chemistry. Also the team plays very poorly when Marbury isnt in the game. When the new guys and younger guys improve in the system and together. I think its good that we have a core of guys starting to play well together. Once you have that its easier to work other guys in to the system. Its much harder to work 3-4 core plays into a system. When you do you see the kind of confusion and missed assignments that you see with the Knicks.

I have good faith in the talent of our two kids and also in Crawford and his upside. It will come. I think winning games early and establishing something positive is paramount. We have 5 months to get other guys involved. We played the hardest part of our schedule and we are 6-6. Thats not great but its not bad either. We have played very good at home and very inconsistant on the road.

I think these are the most "meaningfull" games. We go into an early hole like we have done the last 3 years and you spend the whole season on this uphill climb just to get to .500. You can feel better about getting starters more rest when you have a winning record.

It sounds to me like u are contradicting yourself. I do get what you are trying to say, but the thing is u should understand that it is just wishful thinking with this team. Every game is meaningful and Marbs has no help at the moment because Crawford is our 2. When nHouston comes around things will be better like someone suggested, and I get the feeling u understand this as well.

Everyone really needs to step up their offseason training, you can't start saying who needs minutes and give Ariza 15 and Sweetney 25. Our rotation is fine as is

For starters: Houston, Marbury, Crawford, Penny are all going to get Ariza's Minutes, and Marbury minutes will be fine with H20 and Craw spend some time on the floor

Trevor needs to concentrate on improving his mid-range game, and putting on 10-15 pounds of muscle to create match-up problems

Crawford needs to add 10 pounds because he gets pushed around by bigger guards, and really try to improve his shot selection, he makes a lot of selfish plays.

Sweetney needs to lay off the food for a while. He is 25 pounds away from becoming a dominant force, he is too slow and becomes a liability at the defensive end. He just needs more time

JYD, KURT, and Naz are all playing very well, and should each get their minutes. Naz really needs to concentrate on finishing around the basket, he blows a lot of easy lay-ups, because if he continues his play, and keeps up the intensity he may be an all-star

The Knicks will never have a meaningless came because they could be playing the worst team in the league yet they will either lose or barely have a lead because their defense stinks. The few times we do blow teams out Marbury should be rested and so far Lenny has rested him in blow outs.

I've won't have one of those either.

What I would like to see is a better front line, and a team that plays hard from the beginning to the end.

it's too bad there aren't more players like Artest who can shut you down but not hurt you offensively like Jerome does. they need some kind of defense from one of their starters. It should be Nazr but defense is not in his repetoire.

That is the problem, that is why during the time when TT was in a funk, I have asked for JYD to be in the starting lineup. We need a beast on the court at all times.
