Love we have a game with a purpose!!!! The cup thing gives fans still competing something compelling to watch.
For a moment consider the Hawks, young team restructing few years from getting thru a few rounds of playoffs with coach Bud, and while a disspoinmtnt, they are smart to reboot sooner than later.
Snyder took the team with a long view and they have some sneaky good players who are doing well. Good hire btw! Snyder and Hawks doing many things correctly.
They too have a game with purpose and want to show the league and its fans they are on the rise. No, they are not contenders nor on our time line. They are trying to get to and stay on respectable street. Knicks Im sure are pumped and taking them very seriously. This fan is as well. My opinion.

We should be favored. I get that. I suspect Brunson, Payne and deuce Will work on Trae young and tire him out. I can't stand the little **** but that MOFO came into the hostile Mecca and channeled some evil Reggie Miller and got it done. That was then, but I respect his offensive prowess. He too wants to make a statement tonite. I trust Thibs has a plan and my hope is we can execute it. Hawks have theirs as well. Brunson should eat him up. He is a liability on defense. I feel bad for him if he has to cover Josh Hart.

Hawks are not a great team by any measure but they are deep.

Lose is not the end of the world but a win is an accomplishment they can be proud of and grow from as a unit.

Tiny sample size but since Precious return Knicks have +25.6 net rating -- #1 in league.

Unless I'm mistaken tonight's game is going to be very tough.

Hawks beat Cavs back to back and Celtics at home - they have been rolling lately.

If Josh plays he can't fall asleep all game on Risacher again (33 last time around) and we have to keep D Daniels off of Brunson with some extended screens.

Would love this game but if being honest Trae Young scares me as much as any player --- playing in the garden.

I really like what the Cup is bringing up to the table, making early games have that playoff spice that we like and that helps teams really develop.

Cool.

BUT…

This is a game that the Knicks have to wake up for other than the Cup.

I’m SO FREAKING TIRED of azzclown Trae Young’s villain act in NY. Last time I was actually disappointed the team didn’t someway acknowledge their dislike of it at the end of the game. So this better be a game where the team comes out to play defense from the start. We know the D is still developing, but they show how capable they are in stretches where we see them focusing. Well, you have a freaking clown trying to show off every time he plays you and you are gonna just take it without playing with passion to try to stop him?! I mean, it’s sports! Defend the Garden and bring him down to earth.

Play like it matters for all the opportunities this game brings! Take the Cup challenge seriously! And freaking down that clown! I know it’s still early and all, but I want this win!

Let’s go, Knicks!!!

Trae and the Hawks are a very dangerous 1 game opponent. Capella is a pain. This game is a challenge
