let's say you're a GM and it's a high school only draft. i pose this question, you have the #1 pick. not knowing what you know now, would you draft lebron james or kevin garnett? or is kwame brown, ok4, or dwight howard an option as well?

also, knowing what you know now, who would you take?

my answers:

1. not knowing - i draft lebron #1
2. knowing - kg

This is really tough to say right now, KG and Lebron are becoming the best at their respective positions very quickly, I would say LBJ is doing as well as KG did his second year, maybe even better (17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1.4 steals, 3 apg). So it truly is a difficult comparison. Is it that hard to imagine LBJ winning the MVP award down the road? Definitely not.

this is an insane question. KG has proved to the whole world that he is the freaking man. He has done for at least 5 years straight. This young dude Lebron is a great player, but I am not a fair weather fan. Lebron has potentials, but KG has proven that he is durable, a leader, and a freaking beast. Give me KG.

btw, It won't happen, but the NBA would really benefit if they could get KG to play for the Knicks.

i take Lebron...he's just about at the level of the Garnett's & Kobe's right now & he's only getting better...plus he's still so damn young.

ihave to agree with your answer of course. there was so much coverage, anticipation, and hype blanketing lebron that no other player you mentioned comes close. didn't lebron sign the biggest non-rookie endorsement contract ever. your comparison is unfarir in that kg is the only player that has attained many years of consistency which leaves kg as the only logical choice in the knowing category

Lebron is doing better at this age than Kobe or Garnett were doing when they were this young.

mmmmmwahahahahhahahahahahhahaha

the NBA would truly benefit if the Knicks did have a superstar but what the heck......though it could happen in a few years but that depends on what Isiah's plan is.....

Timmy, Penny and Houstons contracts will all be up withing 2-3 seasons. only time will tell.

This is a no brainer you go with LeBron. 19 years old and way ahead of anyone schedule for superstardom. This guy is going to be every bit as good as Jordan if not better. KG is a very nice player to have on the team but LeBron is gonna be the man in the league.

I'd take Lebron over anyone in the game.

Lebron may very well turn out to be better than Jordan. He has the right attitude, all the skills, and a better body (6'8" 240).

Not knowing, I would take LeBron.
Knowing...it would be a toss up for me. You can make a great case for either player.
