Probably late to this, but after associate assistant Bryant, one of our dev coaches will be missed. Never even knew him!

Success leads to this. Teams can do this if they promote them.
Remember when league poached Spurs of talent?

We are losing a bit of yootful coaching. I don't know whether Mo Cheeks and Mark Bryant are better than we have given up but we have a ton of institutional knowledge in Cheeks and Bryant. Would love to see Jay Wright on a consulting contract to get the Wildcat offense primed.

Coaches learn from each other. Im sure Thibs was able to pull out what worked in Nova an and evolve it to the pro game with a more mature core of players.
Jay Wright borrowed from others also.

We moved on from the guard coaches and fortified with the Big coaches, just like the roster needs

Is Cheeks not going to be a PG coach?

WE have plenty of coaches!
They hired King to be head coach of the Gleague team? Big promotion.
Scott King's title here was "Assistant Director of Player Development".

We got a lot of coaches.

Coaches get poached from organizations where the Head Coach creates a winning philosophy and culture. Those coaches aren't always able to transfer that elsewhere.

we got some that way a few years ago. And lost some along the way. Woodson and Payne were here. They got paid to head programs. Payne tenure at Louisville was a disaster. Can't say it was all on him. Woodson and Indiana has not bought them back to top end relevance they had under knight. College game is totally different now!

While we were focused on rosters, Leon also had to build out the coaching staff. We can speculate much about Bryant leaving. He did not procure a head coaching job and moving to Clev was a lateral move with a coach that just got a new contract. Kenny Atkinson was with knicks with Thibs I believe. He had head coaching jobs then spend a few years with Steve Kerr and they were successful. Atkinson has to be seen as a better coach learning from Kerr. He was on the olympic bench this past year with Kerr!
Perhaps Johnny Bryant gets to build on top of his past successes and one day will get his chance.
Remember we all thought Thibs was too antiquated from his past? Naturally how are fans supposed to think until we know better. We don't know what questions Leon asked him in the interview process and how he handled the obvious. It not like Thibs was tested and we believe was on the hot seat at one point.
Now he is celebrated and extended.
Thibs is from the Riley Tree. Good coaches learn from others but build on it. Good luck to Scott King!

Last few years: Come on Thibs, Play the yoots
This year: Come on Thibs, Let the yoots coach

I guess that’s the sign of improvement? 🤷‍♂️

There’s still some meat on the bone, regarding thumbs down Randle hate. I guess the pessimistic fans still have some meat on the bone.

But I can see Thibs getting a lot of heat this season from fans and media with all the roster flexibility. Like who’s the back up PG? What’s the closing lineup? And the emphasis minutes distribution strategy.

Can we keep the old threads going? Kinda tired of seeing new titles same threads!

As long as we backfill well it’s a good thing. When some guy in SA is considering coming to the Knicks he’ll ask Scott King instead of listen to Charles Barkley

I'd imagine fan base thinking 55 wins and JB ascends to prophet like status with his Nova disciples.
Jalen is in near messiah like status. Randle is Judas. Jules was killing it at 25 and 10 last season, but until he satisfies the playoff thing he is shyt.
Not talked about is Thibs grinding his team to 50 wins, 2nd seed, and conf semi's. He did grind them to the nub of existence and we blew a 2-0 lead.
We so in the honeymoon stage we have no-one to blame really. It was a feel good season. It was great!!!
Do it again, there will be heat especially with OG salary, the price we paid for Mikal, and What ever randle gets.
WE expect JB to go another level too!!!!!

Nalod? Not me. Im gonna just sit back and enjoy it and if it falls short of the euphoria some fans expect, well phuck it.
I got this team on a 3 year window and im thinking we need more time with OG and Mikal. I don't see our center situation as being close to set for a chip run.
For that to happen we need to be healthy and Mitch has not done that in a long time. I think Randle gets traded at some point and y'all won't like this: For KAT!
Im not here to sell it BTW. Im intrigued. How that gets done I don't know. Not saying it even does. but there is a logic and convenience to it.
I do think we can keep randle and have a Kessler in the middle and be really good too!

2nd seed will need more then 50 wins.

Prediction? Its gonna be fun!!!! Kamala could be president, Trump will get neutered into disgrace, and KNova Knicks vs Wemby on Christmas Day!
"Oh happy day!!"

We should bring Mike Miller back. He can't be happy slumming in Washington, DC.

That would be nice. Did a good job coaching G-league, and as interim coach. Losing our best player at the time to a trade, and the Covid lockdown, sunk his chances at a full time gig. Hope it wasn’t his last one.
