It's a far cry from Joe-jitsu but you possibly couldn't have it better from Kamala's standpoint. As an incumbant, Joe breezed through primaries, Kamala won't have to slug through that.
The previous money, strategy, VP pick, RNC focus was all on Joe, ie. none on Kamala and now the Republicans and everyone else's $ behind those efforts have to be rethought and re-spent.
She and the Democrats just got a bounce that could carry them if they play the VP selection correctly.
Everything the RNC just ran on the Dems can point right back at them.
Kamala will cut him up in a debate.
also the biggest thing GOP had going for them was Biden's age and cognitive decline (despite the obviously same thing happening w/ orangeblobman)Dont phuck up the VP pick and they got this
If it were only so clear cut what's not phucking it up. Should the VP candidate come from the more progressive or the more centrist side of the party?
I lean more progressive, but a centrist with a military background. Sen. Mark Kelly from AZ comes to mind.
I read this somewhere and it's perfect. Moderate white guy who's well liked from a battleground state. I am NOT looking for the best person for the job. IDGAF about that. All I care about is winning and seeing project 2025 and the orange blog vanish to obscurity. That is literally all that matters. WIN

It’s early going in the process, but Kelly is emerging as the one who checks most of the boxes. “He’s so down to earth for someone who’s been vetted four times to go into space,” says a Kelly booster, noting that, “He’s not an electric campaigner, but he’s what she needs—a very stable, grounded guy with a lot of experience, a hero too.” His website states: “As a Navy pilot, he made multiple deployments on the aircraft carrier USS Midway and flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm.”Arizona has a Democratic governor, so Kelly’s Senate seat is not at risk. Should he head to the White House, the governor would appoint his successor.
Kelly is smart and cool in debate, and he’s tough on border issues, which could help blunt attacks on Harris as Biden’s “border czar” who is complicit in the passage of illegal aliens entering the country.
Kelly is also married to Gabby Giffords, who was shot in the head in 2011 in an assassination attempt and mass shooting while a member of Congress. After an arduous recovery, she founded a gun safety group that bears her name. Her presence on the national stage alongside her husband would amplify an important issue for Democrats.
I just heard Harris's first speech of the campaign for President, and I was struck by how much more self-assured, and a better communicator she was. More down to earth as well. The whine in her voice which was grating 4 years ago is gone. She looks to be a better campaigner this time around. Four years as VP and having a front row seat of what it takes to be President helped.
