If it comes to that, **** Isiah Hartenstein. Center’s are the easiest to replace AND we still have Mitch who has been our starter years. Deuce McBride is still just scratching the surface off what his ceiling is. With his work ethic he is going to keep improving every year. He won’t ever be Jrue Holiday but he has more value than trade filler. Keep that young man a Kick

Best case scenario - we can do a sign and trade with IHart and get a big fat trade exception

I like the idea of Moritz Wagner. He can play both F/C and can spread the floor. He fouls a lot but would be fine with reserve minutes. He rebounds but is a defensive liability.

Interesting....chess moves

In another move involving a center, the Knicks picked up Jericho Sims’ $2.1 million option for next season, a source told The Post.

His deal is still only partially guaranteed with two trigger dates until becoming fully guaranteed later in the summer.

Deuce just got a steal of a contract, not expecting the FO to negate that and gift the Nets just for a last second numbers game.

Last I had heard, I thought the 3 second rounders + declining Precious/Burks put us where we needed to make the 4 yr/ 72M work?

The only thing reported about this is that the Knicks concluded to NOT include Deuce in the deal. Talking about Deuce being included is Knicks twitter anxiety. They have something else cooked up - they're have set up a bunch of moves to get there.

I don’t think they can sign and trade him if the offer is above what the Knicks can offer right ? In that case he would just come back.

so if the question is McBride or iHart- that is a tough one - I feel like we have enough guards that we can get by without McBride and hope the kid we drafted can play 5-10 minutes in back up.

We don't have another big to occupy space, play defense and facilitate the offense like iHart.

So we can sign and trade a player into the Bridges deal like Burks?

Tommy Beer: ESPN’s Bobby Marks says he expects NY to add a player to the Mikal Bridges deal (either a player currently under contract or via sign-and-trade). Also says NY will go up the second apron (providing an additional $11 million to round out the roster) Lastly, Marks mentions Orlando as a suitor for Isaiah Hartenstein – via Twitter TommyBeer

I could see Brooklyn wanting Burks. You still need an adult in that locker room.

Yes Burks or Achiuwa. Either to the nets or a third team.

The fact that the trade was announced as is means they probably plan on adding one of these players but didn’t want to risk any investigation by the nba. Deal gets announced, won’t be official until either Burks or Achiuwa find a home so they can be lumped into the deal.

Zoinks really?

Some around the league believe Hartenstein could earn roughly $23 million per year on a multi-year deal from a rival franchise that could potentially sway him to leave New York, which can offer up to four years, $72 million. – via HoopsHype

$6M / yr more seems tame compared to some of the numbers were seeing this summer, but if we're talking Orlando, we're also talking no state income taxes. Couldn't blame him.

6mm is 37% more then 16mm..........

Thats 24mil over 4 years. That might be tame but it will matter.

Counter argument is that endorsement opportunities in NY may be able to offset some of that difference - granted when we're talking mid tier players, remains to be seen what opportunities are actually there.

But yes, I agree, nothing to scoff at.

Based on Claxton/Williams/Toppin deals, the 23mm sounds like fair market value.
