no... not high enough on Kwame, Dixon or Jeffries. I think we give up way too much. Look, I love Kwame's potential, but thats what it is. Sweetney is playing well in he's in the rotation. KT is averaging a double double and playing terrific D while shooting over 50% on all jumpers. And why include Ariza?

I dont see a lot of moves for us to get Kwame that makes sense for Wash.

That's a brutal trade proposal.

BRUTAL, I say.

When it comes to the Wizards, I do like Etan Thomas a lot, but Brown--Jeffries--Dixon is a weak trio to get for a polished veteran & two young promising guys.

How about Nazr and cash for Dalembert and Kevin Ollie?

Hell yes. The Sixers would have to be crazy to make that deal.

why? they have little size and Dalembert's been hurt and benched. Also Ollie never plays and has 3 years and about $12mm AFTER this year. I would think OBrian would LOVE to get Nazr's offensive boards in his box score.

I think its very fair and here is my reasoning.

#1 Kwame is now over 7-0 and 260 pounds. He is now physically filled out. He just turned 22 and he is poised for a dramatic breakout. He fulfills the need for a BIg strong specimen in the middle with a tremendous skill set with the athletiscm. Id give all three away for kwame, but thats just me:>)
#2 Jared jefferies-also a player with tremedous length who can play the 3 who is just finding his niche now. Not a 20 point scorer, but IMHO a big time intengible player who can average 10 rebounds from the 3.

juan dixon--a throw in but a guy who can come in and play

what am i doing--im getting younger for older, im getting longer for shorter, im getting more effecient on defense and in the middle. These guys are baby monsters, but wash has to many players. at some point decisions are going to have to be made. If I can sell KT while he is playing at his peak to get that package--i do it.

I wouldn't do this trade. I think fish basically summed everything up in his first post.

Briggs... I totally understand why you do it, I just disagree. Also your not really getting younger. How is giving up 22 and 19 year old getting younger? KT is a solid vet that stabalizes a rotation. I agree with trading guys when their value is peeking, I think you lose too much here.

Kwame also cant stay healthy. I understand the desire to land him, and honestly if Isiah made this trade I wouldnt complain, I just think we give up a lot for some 2 guys with a lot to prove and one guy we dont need.

Wow! How low can you feel about the Knicks... Brown isn't something special yet and who knows if he will ever be but still you would trade three BIG pieces of the Knicks' present and future for a guy that could lead us back to the lottery...

Dalembert has a chance to be a dominant, change a game type C w/his defense & shotblocking lone...Nazr has nice offensive game, but more than half of his shots result from Marbury's penetration & dish, something he won't be seeing as much from Allen Iverson.

Kurt thomas
Mike Sweetney
Trevor Ariza to WASH

for

Kwame Brown
Jared Jefferies
Jarvis Hayes

i think Hayes has as much upside potential as Sweetney does, & they're from the same draft class...Jefferies can be a decent role player off the bench but probably doesn't have as much upside as Ariza, but that is offset by getting Kwame Brown who can be a franchise stud for the next 10 years w/the right coaching & development...losing KT's production would hurt in the short run, but this is a move for the future...this team isn't winning a title as presently constructed.

Keep Ariza out of that deal and I would probably do it. However, I don't think I would give up Kurt, Mike, and Trevor in the same deal unless I was getting a proven commodity in return.

It's a very good trade for NYK

We're basically trading 2 good players in Sweetney and Thomas for a futre star in Kwame

Ariza and Jefferies will be pretty good as well so it's a wash

But whenever you can trade 2 to strengthen 1 position it's good

I don't see why Sweetney and Thomas for Kwame is bad.

Ariza will have to impress Washington otherwise they won't do it.

To get Kwame, I'd be willing to give up any ONE of the three players listed (Sweetney, Kurt, or Ariza). I'd also give up an expiring contract next summer and take back a bad contract. But I wouldn't give up two (and definitely not three) of those players.

I don't know about that briggs, I agree with fish here, we are giving up a lot to get those 3, and honeslty I like the quickness and defense Ariza brings more than I do jeffries.. Dixon I am not crazy about at all, so basically I would be giving up 3 players I am high on for 1 player with the potential in Brown, who has not shown much at all...

I pass for now..
