![]() After what we did in this draft, I'm fully expecting Hartenstein back.

Doesn’t seem to make sense since they will be really low on quality proven depth. They will need more. So it comes down to either Hartenstein or Mitch gone. Can’t keep both and fill out the roster under the second apron. Right now they have about 7M left under the first apron, which isn’t much. If they move Achiuwa via sign and trade to a third team as part of the bridges deal (which seems like the only possibility to avoid being hard capped at the first apron), and if Hartenstein doesn’t come back, they would have about 17 million to work with under the second apron. That’s more than enough to bring in a center like Goga or Drummond at the 5.5M taxpayers exception, and resign Burks. But they would need Hartenstein gone and Achiuwa moved in the bridges deal. If they brought back Hartenstein but trading Mitch, they could create about 15M in room under the second apron depending on what they bring back in return, if anything. So this is where things stand. The talent is at an all-time high but they need to get the center position and overall depth sorted out. |
