Not many centers would command that kind of return, and certainly not an injury prone one with no offensive game. Centers aren't valued that much.

It’s true. But you also have to consider their circumstance too. How else can you upgrade that position if Jonas leaves?

It’s a weak draft. No player they draft would help them in the short term. Mitch has a great contract.

What is their landscape for trading for another impact C?

I don’t know how teams value possible strong short term value versus a weak draft draftee at #6? Bird in hand with Mitch.

Minny grossly overpaid for a C and it kinda finally worked?

What player at 6 is better than Mitch? Not joking.

I still think Knicks need Mitch for certain matchups like Sixerrs.

IDK, i'm no scout, when it's all said and done i'm sure there will be quite a few better than Mitch available at #6. #6 picks have alot of value even in bad drafts.

I mean listen I hope so!... I'd do Mitch + 24 to more anywhere in the lotto as long as we had a good target there. Just don't see it.

This goes both ways. I don't think the Knicks would want a lottery pick in this draft. Given their MO, I'd think the Knicks would want someone who could help them now (Thibs) or a pick down the line (Brock).

If you're selling high on Mitch then maybe but coming off so many injuries? All just food for thought I know and we'll see what really happens.

Centers will come back in vogue if they are great defenders

100%

This would absolutely have to be that Kawhi trade up move type scenario.

Mitch is getting paid $14M and then $13m the following year! That is just a smidge more than pick#6 which is something like $6.2m.

So even hurt, I think Mitch has great value to the right team, including the Knicks.

Hypothetical: Mitch for #6?
