We missed Scary Julius to deal with Embiid's dirty play. We could have used a bully in the paint

There also needs to be some honesty here. Embiid is the reigning MVP. The NBA wants him to play. That means they will protect him on both sides of the ball. No one wants to see Paul Reed for 24 minutes.

If he gets ejected like he should have we are up 3-0. Win the next game. Knicks are better.

Knicks got everything they needed from everyone except maybe Donte. But they played well. Just couldn’t deal with Embiid. It’s a shame he probably gets ejected under normal circumstances. But it’s not like this was going to be a sweep. Onto game 4.

Embiid hit his highest number of threes since Dec. of 2017. It was kind of a 100 year flood.

If this is how the game will be called every game we might not win. Clear foul on Joel infront of the ref and nothing. The same guy that has matched our whole team in fts.

Embiid has become my #1 hated player. He is a ludicrous crybaby that the league has empowered to do whatever he wants. That right there, after all the other things he did in this game, and then on the other end he cries for every breath that goes near him? Freaking disgusting! It’s really sad that such a talented player is so small in his mind.

I hope we didn't lose Mitch to that bs, he didn't just try to hurt him, he then pushed him so his precious knee wouldn't get touched. Sucks he got rewarded for being a douche.

They are desperate and playing for their lives. We have to adjust the intensity. We have to also punch Embiid in the face (metaphorically speaking). We can't allow to big dick us without consequences. He needs to be fouled hard. He's gonna get the calls anyway. Make him earn them.

This. We have 5 possible players that we could put on him (Anunoby, Robinson, Hartenstein, Precious and Sims). You'd think we'd send waves of hard fouls on him, especially after that bushleague play on Robinson late in the 1st.

And on defense, we should look to attack him more aggressively to force a contest and put stress on his knees in the process. He was allowed to coast through the 3rd, which is how he had the legs to get so many comfortable jump shots, undettered. Was shocked that he was allowed to get through the 3rd without him getting a foul, especially since he was in foul trouble at the end of the half.

Respectfully disagree. Fouling doesn't work on a guy who shoots 88% at the line. Here are Joel's expected value for shots:
2 pt FGA 1.2
3 pt FGA 1.2
2 pt FTA 1.8
3 pt FTA 2.6

Clearly putting him on the line is the worst option. Best strategy is to deny him the ball (he's tops among rotation players in FG%) and then back off and give him room. Embiid wants to shoot jumpers- let him.

It's about the psychological and physical effect. He can be broken mentally, when stressed.

Of course, you are so right. Let Embiid injure anyone on the other side, get away with murder and commit blatant flagrant fouls in front of the refs because the league is right, you need to protect Embiid. You are so right.

And let's not pretend he's not going to get to the line anyway. The Knicks aren't putting him their. The refs are. I'm saying replace those sticky tack could with real fouls.

Embiid is a menace and I don’t mean it for his talent. Cool, the guy was an MVP for a reason. But tonight he was out there like if the league sent him a message letting him do whatever he wanted on the court, that he could hit anyone however he wanted because it was his stage. He looked out there like a spoiled brat out of control ready to hurt anyone on his way. For a guy who has battled injuries and knows how tough it is to recover from them, this behavior is immature, irresponsible and very dangerous. He lost any respect I had for him and if he keeps playing like this, looking to hurt others, he will soon meet karma again.

Their team kept saying they knew what to do after losing the rebounding battle. Now we know their plan. Take out one of our bigs.

I don't care if Embiid ends up as the GOAT when his career is over and his knees are replaced with titanium. Fair is fair. A kick for a kick. A stomach punch for a stomach punch. There's physical and the there's plain dirty and Embiid crossed threshold tonight.

He did and I really hope he gets what he deserves. He is a punk in the lowest of ways. He is a disgrace
