A bit homer centric but thats what home broadcasts are for. the announcers could not see the plays. was likely seeing it via monitor. Nurse called time out when they did not have possession. Hard to see in real time when the ball was loose.
Yeah, they did have composure as it all melted down.

Not wrong: Brunson feeling what Randle did against Atlanta, but with better players around him so Knicks still win

Great piece from Ian.
Maybe now we fans understand why Thibs does not take out players until the other team waves the white flag of surrender? The aggregate of work prepares players intensity over a long period of time.
Riles used to condition his players in a similar manner. Always high out put. No switches on or off. Just always on. Riles learned this in LA as showtime players were talented but not intense all the time. As a coach you condition over and over again. For players it wears them down. not all can handle it physically or mentally. In NY, Riles knew he did not have the talent so he installed the intensity from day one. In LA, he could not as that team already has its character.
Not since Allan Houston's shot fell in 25 years ago have knicks had a moment like this.
Then it was part of an improbable road to the finals. For now its up 2-0 heading down the turnpike.
Hopefully the road will continue until June!!!!!

that was just so... dull... as if it was a casual possession. I've had to listen to opposing broadcasters b/c I stream now, and man, most of them are awful. really makes you appreciate CLyde and Breen.

I am so glad you posted this. I made this same revelation last night after I posted a tweet but forgot to say it here. The 76ers whole defense is geared to stop Brunson just like the Hawks did to Randle. So I have to admit I was too hard on Randle for that playoff series.

I love her so much. Look at all the emotions she went through in such a short period of time.

I listen to her and O'Keefe on the radio a lot. Great team and listen in my opinion. And this clip is fantastic.

I disagree, they accomplished something huge so far, plus the 2nd seed and 50 wins. No one that I saw on any network had the Knicks up 2-0 if Embiid played both games and well. Without one of our All-Stars, Philly and the so-called experts plus the refs have no more excuses. The Knicks did what most said was improbable and earned the respect they won't get unless they win it all. This team doesn't care about gloating, they care their teammates, the NY fans, and about Ws.

Knicks just defended home court. Won the ones they are supposed to win. If they steal one 2 in Philly, then we can gloat.

Don't gloat 'til it's over and they accomplshed something.

If Randal played and was 90% healthy we win this game in blow out fashion. Philly isn’t even on the same level as us with Randal playing and healthy.

Agree 1 million%

gradyandrew wrote:Embiid's press comments were a total joke. Maxey pushed Hart in the chest to get separation and then Brunson grabbed his waist. If you are going to complain about the grab, you also need to admit it was preceded by an offensive foul. Nick Nurse called for time out after Josh already had the ball. I hope the NBA fines him.Sour grapes.

If the writer was objective, the 6ers should have never had it. That bs non-foul by Lowry, not only gave them the ball, it killed momentum, then they took the lead. They call that foul, I don't think they ever get in a winning poisition to begin with. So, the accurate statement is the refs lost it, 6ers never had nor earned it. Knicks win as they should have. Enough said.

Unlike the game summary article which carelessly states, as if it were fact, that 1) Nurse called timeout before the inbounds 2) Nurse called timeout moments later when Maxey had possession, lol 3) Maxey simply missed the layup (no mention of a iHart's deflection) 4) Hartenstein kicked out to Devo for the game-winning three, not OG. You're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts, bro.

Interesting article. A bit over done perhaps but we get that also. That they had the lead is not accounted for, just that 6er's "Lost it". I thought to that moment Philly just played a good game!
To me the margin of difference was Embiid could not move on defense thus we were getting offense rebounds, by having depth with Deuce, Brunson was able to rest then DDV who was fresh enough to execute the last minute. He got the lose ball for Brunson shot.
Philly is older, Harris is on his last year of what was an untradable contract, Lowrey is 38 and played hard, but made the errant pass. Was that fatigue? Batum and Oubre did a great job on Brunson. Article does not emphasize that. Oubre has torched us on offense in his career but he is not given the green light on Philly and he is relegated to defense duties?
Maxey and Embiid still played a very effective 2man game at times. Any writer can find fault down 0-2.
Really, what the writer is doing is doing the blame game. Fans are frustrated and needed blame to quench the blood thirst of losing. They were play-in team! Embiid was having his best season before he went down and is doing something very hard coming back on a painful knee.

Yes, knicks were all the writer said they were. Rabid dogs with a tenacious temperament! Again, its why many don't want to play for Thibs, he demands it.

Would love to have Randle back for this. The team was rolling before that Miami game.

This is the Randle.
