After the summer FIBA I thought Jalen would not make the team.
Perhaps after "best PG" and "best player in the East" I thought he'd be a shoo in.
My first instinct was correct sadly.
The old guard got the call for the Olympic team.
Someone will get injured. Makes no sense for Embiid to play. Lebron is a crack head and will do it. Durant perhaps also.
Jalen's time will come at some point if he keeps it up. Im not thrilled with his being snubbed but have to consider the guys on the team paid their dues a bit more.
Silver lining is Jalen might get some needed rest?
I wanted it for him though. Maybe he gets the call. Halliburton? Uggh!
Its not an NBA thing BtW to put him on the team. Thats on a committee and the elegant Grant hill.
Jalen got another chip on his shoulder. He'll make them pay. Bring Miami. Fuck em.
Bring them all on!

It's not really a snub. They go for style of play more than anything. Brunson as an undersized scoring PG is not the ideal Olympic player given what they've gone for in the past. They would target Randle before Brunson IMO.

Not sure about that. Brunson is a very good defensive PG that can play zone and man. He can hit the open 3 and knows the value of swinging the ball. He was snubbed. However, I am ok with him not playing and resting for the following season.

I'll take "Not picked yet" for $200.

And also be AOK with a summer of rest while knowing Jalen will be a shoe-in for LA in 2028. He knows it too.

No sweat.

This is true. 4 years from now he should still be in his prime given his style of play, and be a lock for the Olympics.

I just don't think it's a "who's better" argument. Brunson can do a lot of things but his bread and butter is isolation crafty scoring. That's not how they want to play. I'd take Brunson over Hali in the NBA but I get why they want Hali on the Olympic team.

No biggie let him get some rest and recovery. He can go back to the lab after our deep playoff run.

He played last summer, right? Other than pride it's a good thing.

I am not so sure he was snubbed

IMO Curry and Booker essentially took his spot. Holiday and Haliburton bring a different looks. I want to **** on him being left out but I don't know if I can because I do like how the roster is composed

I could care less about any of these awards - they are mostly baloney anyway.

Sure they are nice - yada yada but Jalen's legacy will come down to the playoffs and how far he can drag us.

I do think though that the Olympic snub may result in Jalen putting some 40's on people in the playoffs.

Being included on an olympic team is not an award. Its an opportunity.
That the team did not succeed last summer might have something to do with it?
IN two years they will play the FIBA cup thing again and perhaps he'll have an another opportunity.
As said I too believe its both his type of game and that others have put in more time in the past.
Winning olympic gold is no guarantee anymore but its a nice accomplishment and one that can matter towards HOF enshrinement. An NBA chip would help that a lot!

Snubbed 2.0

The Big Ragu I has played enough games but did not meet the 20 minute of play time per game to qualify for MIP award. He fell just a bit short. Weird rule but they exist for a reason.
My guess is those games were earlier in the season coming off the bench.

iHart will not be eligible either for the award either.

These are no subjective. The rules existed before the season. Not an anti knick bias.

Really not a snub.
Going into final spot they already had 5 very good guards. (6 if you count LBJ ball handling need)
4 F's and 3 C's.
Kawhi as last pick being a PF and hell of a player made sense.
Add given that JB was part of a FIBA team that failed to medal did not help.

Is strange rule about Ragu.
Also that he did not qualify in minutes. Especially after the minutes he logged at end of the year.

Weird rule exists for first time and just needs to be adjusted.

Personally I would prefer Brunson take the entire summer off.

I agree with this statement. Adding Brunson would be redundant when you have Curry and Brunson (who are better passers on top of everything else). Randle would be a better fit. Big body who can rebound and play inside and out.

Its a really dumb rule and since by all accounts, it looks like Maxey is the front runner (undeserving, imo), needs to be looked at and changed, by the NBA.
