while this sucks it's the only path to gettin the old Randle. Cant have him running around like a ticking timebomb. Surgery fixes it. He's the final piece to next year's title run. Denver had to wait to get Murray back. We can wait to get Jules back.

Man we were dominating the Heat and for that moment it felt like we were gonna finally do it this year...and then after that stupid game we got the Knicks fan reality check.

I felt that even if he got back, he was not going to have time to get into playoff shape. Best that he start down the road now and be ready for opening day.
What a crazy season.

Yea, we can still accomplish things this year. Getting OG back and winning a playoff series would be big going into next year. I fear the team will be a little deflated though and pack it in mentally but we'll see. I suppose it's possible they shut down OG too but I hope that doesn't happen.

It’s the best thing long term. That shoulder could have come back out on first time he goes hard to the rim. Surgery was really only good option.

Tank?!? And ruin our culture of "winning through grit and hustle"???

Fuck that. Randle will become expendable when we get to ECF without him. Expect a trade next season. Plan A has not changed one iota.

Get well Julius.

I'll be content with a hard fought playoff series. I still think we beat Orlando and can give Cleveland, Indiana and Milwaukee a good fight if Rob and OGA are near 100%. We got no chance against Philly with Embiid or Miami.

It’s kind of bull**** that it’s always Miami when we get injured. The way they defend and get under and into shooters landing space is a problem.

What kind of magical surgery fixes whatever the problem is, and allows him to play bully ball ever again?

Anybody have first-hand experience? Can he be good as new again?

One thing you know about this guy is that he plays hurt all the time and he rushes to come back (he clearly needed more time for his ankle in the playoffs last year and the start of the season this year). I think the pain was too high and they tried everything they could strengthen the muscle around it so he could withstand contact, but they just couldn't make progress. This is the right move for his long term, but its gotta be killing Julius and I think deferred this decision as long as he could. If OG was playing and we were closing on the 2nd seed, I don't know if the decision would be different, but with the situation being what it is, this is the right call. Just sad for us fans who have waited our entire lives for this level of competetiveness.
