And if that happened we also get that 50. Still in play. 2 games at home.
Bulls locked into the 9 now so will probably rest players.

Hopefully even Philly like, we need to avoid those bad boys from NY

Friday is a wild day for the standings. Nothing is decided yet, but looking good for Knicks to have home court in rd.1 at least.

Hmmm the only reason I could see a jump after a night where only Knicks played and won is they think Philly will get 7 and Knicks have a better chance of 2nd now. Otherwise why the jump when no one else moved?

we should rest everyone last game. Is there any good reason to want to move up to 2nd? even with a loss we cant drop below 4th I dont think.

100% agree. Lock up 3rd and call it a day. If PHI somehow manages to leap to 6th because ORL and IND collapse then so be it. But no reason for us to "chase" the toughest 1st round matchup possible just so we can get an extra home game in round 2, or because 50 wins sounds sexier than 49. We avoid Boston either way which is the important part.

Could just mean Knicks more likely locked into 2/3 seeds than other.

You mean like home court advantage over the #3 slot?

Winning round 1 is a higher priority then HCA in round 2, esp with Giannis hurt and a fair chance MIL doesn't win round 1 and we would have HCA anyway as a 3 seed.

the chances of us playing the #3 seed and HCA even mattering are slim.

But the chances of us playing PHI as the #2 seed, when PHI is something like 34-8 with Embid, are much higher.

PHI's win % with Embidd is higher than even BOS who has 62 wins. Playing PHI in the 1st round with a rested Embidd is really the same as playing a #1 seed.

and all that aside, the most important thing for us is to enter the playoffs without anymore injuries to key guys. and resting the starters will allow that.

MIL might not even make round 2 at this rate. So decent chance we could have HCA anyway even from the 3 seed.

Also, last three playoff series we've lost we've had HCA. Last playoff series we won we won without HCA. It's largely overrated.

Yea, we watched Brunson take some lumps last night. Hart has been playing 45 mpg for months. Get them an extra few days of rest.

Not for nothing but our schedule is Nets, Bulls. With Bulls already locked into their slot and not needing to play guys too. Win win

There's a lot of talk about the Knicks staying at 3rd or moving up to 2nd seed. If we lose the last 2, there's a chance that 2 out of 3 teams behind us pass us in the standings. We need to protect against that, don't we?

Cleveland, Orlando, Indy, Sixers, and Miami are pretty close in level - the standings already tells that story. Each of them can give us problems - most of them have 2 legit all-stars & legit defensive weapons.

Friday 4/12 games:
Brooklyn @Knicks - Knicks playing back to back; Nets playing spoilers
Indiana @Cleveland - This game will eliminate one of these teams from catching up with the Knicks. (Knicks would be too far ahead of Indy; Knicks would have a tie breaker with Cleveland)
Orlando @Philly - An Orlando win locks the Sixers in the play-in tournament
Milwaukee @OKC - A Milwaukee win clinches 2nd seed.

Sunday 4/14 games:
Charlotte @Cleveland
Atlanta @Indy
Chicago @NYK
Brooklyn @Philly - Nets playing spoilers
Milwaukee @Orlando
