Burks as the lead guard is a Thibs move. I didn’t like it then or now.
Milton was killing us in Philly. I remember saying we need that guy on this team. But he’s not that guy anymore. I just hope all that losing and low minutes / production since leaving Philly didn’t kill his confidence.

Watching Burkes play feels like he’s a shell of himself. And not ready for heavy Thibs minutes rotation. Let’s see if Milton can handle going from 8mins to 38mins a game. Thibs wil see if his tires are built for this. Maybe that’s the key with Thibs. Rest your top guys and bring in vets he can run into the ground. Then bring the starters back for a solid playoff run 🤔

I thought bring Burke back was a head scratcher cause I didn’t think he was effective when he was pressed into service during his last stint. He can get the ball from foul line to foul line but doesn’t setup other players or penetrate.

Bring back dee-fense

I'd be surprised if Shake got any minutes. Highly doubt Thibs' would play him over his adopted son Alec.

FO going to be faking injuries to the players to get them some rest from Thibs

lol, Alec has an Obi leash right now. I'd bet he's out of the rotation completely as soon as Shake starts playing.

Shake plays defense from what I remember and can penetrate and shoot. Seems kind of redundant with Deuce, but anything to get Burks off the floor. Seems akin to the Bruce Brown fit that we were looking at.

Yes, he does all of those things…..but only when he plays ‘against’ the Knicks

All we need is 15 decent bench mins from him. Get Burks off the court and get more point of attack defense where Grimes was playing and around Bogs during his mins.

I view this as Grimes replacement and ending the Burks experiment.

Dude has to earn his minutes. Play well, he can stick.
Often players need situations to thrive and he might. Pistons have a young back court and he is better off getting released and an opportunity to show up.
His future here? its why we tune in and watch.

I’m a bit disappointed with adding Shake from the buyout market - just seems like we should have been able to do better. 27, never really did anything. Maybe he is better than Burks, though that is a low bar that even Fournier would have been able to clear. Or Frank or Knox for that matter!

I dunno. Shake seems like a good free talent signing. With half the team out constantly we just need some depth.

Shake always seemed like a pain for us when we played Philly —- seemed like he got to the basket and got some buckets.

We don’t need much just someone to be serviceable with the ball and put some pressure on D.

Breaking down the defense is exactly what we need. That is my issue with Mcbride being the lone backup PG for the playoffs. He is not the best at breaking down the D. That is why Brunson has been so huge for us. That is what he does.

My only concern, since this seems to be only a depth move, maybe to wake Burks up. Shake seems to leave his feet when he penetrates instead of keep his dribble live. But, rather see him at the point than Burks on the 2nd unit. Glad they did something, hinted a pick-up was needed days ago.

Yeah, can’t believe he gave Alec eleven minutes last night when he still had one more guard in Charlie Brown Jr. on the bench!

So is he officially on the roster now? When is he eligible to play?

He is now signed - I assume to a regular contract.
