Burks has one of those odd contract prices for the Knicks to meet. $10M. I don't know who you can trade for him that matches salary. But I'm also struggling with math this morning

He’s tough to trade for. The easiest way would be to trade Flynn to a team for a larger expiring salary (someone like Patty mills in Atlanta) then moving mills to Detroit for Burks. That deal works. The other thing would be a wider deal like Fournier, grimes, sims and draft comp for Bojan and Burks. Or Stewart and Burks for Fournier and a filler. Option one is both the simplest but obviously needs a third team. Just need to turn Flynn into a slightly larger salary.

I predict we trade broke down Brunson for Alex Caruso. Let the madness begin!

I think they would want both rather than only Burks due to needing contracts to trade for a star next season. If we only traded for Burks and he left in FA we would be F'd.

It all depends how much we are under the 1st apron. We can get there easily and take on about 5M in salaries or add minimum salary scrubs to even it out. Burks is 32 and Bogdonovich is 34 so they aren't any kind of long term fix. I'm not including Grimes or Sims.

He saw he has the team all to himself now and can basically score whenever he wants so he is trying to build his case for a big contract. I do find it funny teams with no assets like the Suns were very confident they could get in for a trade this season.

Read that he likes playing for Clifford. Not to mention he has a life in Charlotte that he might not want to leave.

That is possible but he will not be in Char next season anyway. So I would personally doubt those things as the real reason.

Burks for Arch/Sims or Burks for Flynn - gotta probably attach some 2nds.

Due to Detroit being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Detroit could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here.

You could also have the Pistons attach Gallo to Burks or Stewart. Stewart they'd probably want to see some firsts attached.

We don't need Stewart as much given Precious is playing well, but I'd take Gallo on as a floor spacer 4/5,

Where have you seen that Charlotte is not interested in re-signing him?

They have been far apart on contract terms for a while now. It is why they are in the situation they are at right now. I remember hearing about it multple times. It is not that they don't want him. It is that they don't want him at the price he wants. Like us with Quick.

Sims had a random mystery illness last game. Would not be shocked if he's used as bait. Also not shocked if Grimes is ready to play but we are holding him out through the deadline to see if we land a deal with him.

Mook plays defense and is tough. Not sure how he's playing nowadays but solid bench guy for a team that needs some toughness and D.
