To me, this means Knicks are deep in the hunt for Dejounte.

I like Grimes but I think we overrated him and expectations. He's basically Reggie Bullock.

https://theathletic.com/5205884/2024/01/16/knicks-trade-deadline-facilitator-quentin-grimes/

Katz article is the source. Its clear that along with Fournier - Grimes is the biggest player piece the Knicks could move. He's now the 3rd wing in the pecking order for defense, and he doesn't seem to be ready to do enough offensively be to be the bench's leading scorer. We know he is capable putting up the offensive numbers, but he's just not doing it this year. That makes his role going forward murky, and he's the obvious guy to replace with a bench scorer/facilitator.

Along with Grimes, the most tradable contracts are Sims and Arcidiacano. Some combo of those 4 along with picks is what probably constitutes our next move. It would be great if it brought us that 6th man/second ball handler and a backup 5 man who can do more than Achiuwa. If its only one we need the ballhandler / guy who can start he offense the most.

The players Katz lists out as being targets: "Some players who fit that description include (in no particular order): the Portland Trail Blazers’ Malcolm Brogdon, the Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton, the Charlotte Hornets’ Terry Rozier, the Indiana Pacers’ Bruce Brown and T.J. McConnell, the Atlanta Hawks’ Bogdan Bogdanović, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Caris LeVert and the Dallas Mavericks’ Tim Hardaway Jr."

He got 41 on 9 3's yesterday! Would be the ultimate troll job on Knick fans to see Timmy here for a third tenure!

Pistons moved Bagely for Muscala & Gallo. Does that clear a path for them to move EDIT Bojan? Hmmm

wouldn't be shocked if we are going after:

Burks + Bogdanovich from DET
Rozier + Hayward from CHA

That’s sort of where I stand. Sounds to be like he and Fournier will be gone for either Murray, Rozier or Brogdon. Those names stand out. Obviously the draft comp would be minimal for some.

We are losing our yoot and the window is open?
The Embiid thing still a thing or is that an after season thing?
Media has knicks front and center on many fronts.

Another reason I like Brogodon because he has true off guard size, but can flip over to the point on offense and allow Deuce to guard PGs on defense. Not sure how much Portland wants Grimes, but Shaedon Sharpe injured for a couple weeks and they don't really have a 3 and D profiled wing on the roster. He could be interesting for them. Maybe they'd rather have picks. Portland, Detroit and Charlotte are teams we have some history of making recent deals with.

I don't see how they could make Rozier + Hayward work salary wise. That's $50M in salary. Rozier for Founier fits nicely tho.

Yet never mentions Dejonte Murray? Odd.

I'd be glad to see THJ come back. He left a different player from his first stint. Still one of the league leaders in taking charges, like Brunson. They know each other's game. Which is always good for your starting PG.

I remember his first press conference as a Mav, he definitely didnt want to be traded. Looked like he wanted to deck Janis lol.

Guess DDV does make Grimes expendable

What surprises me is that Grimes has spent every summer as a pro training with Penny Hardaway. The man had one of the sickest handles for a PG his size in NBA history. I cant fathom how Grimes handle looks exactly the same as his rookie season, maybe worse. Doesnt make sense.

I wonder how much pickup bball he plays over the summer? Might be the same issue Frank had. Too much gym, not enough playground.

He played on the FIBA practice squad and I've seen clips of him playing open runs in the summer. I think it's confidence and overthinking. He drives the paint and he's like "should I shoot it? Thibs told me not to take midrange? Should I take it to the rack? Nah, the angle is gone? Let me pass somewhere then..." I'm disappointed he didn't take the initiative in putting up shots last game, but minutes plays a part too. I would've gave like to see him grab some of Hart's minutes.
