He may have finally realized his job as a point guard. He is getting everyone involved and making some Brooklyn type passes out there. The game is coming to him and he is scoring whenever the defense allows him to. He's becoming an unstoppable weapon out there.

IT's good to see it right before our eyes.

With Craw having his back and playing with a controlled confidence.....the Knicks may be on to something.

Dude....you must have woken up to a nice blue and orange pitcher of coolaid. But I am with you - I have been seeing this team begin to gel and I think with H20 back it will get even better. Marbury is definitely showing that he is the man at the point this year. Lets see what this 3 guard rotation can do...H20, Craw and Marbs - I dont think the rest of the NBA realizes how sick this combo is going to be.

I am gonna go drink myself a nice tall glass of this stuff and then watch the Raptors lose

He's always been a good pass first PG. I predicted last summer that this team would play well and people would magically finally notice that he's a pass first PG, claiming that there was some change in his game. They made the same claims about him 2 years ago in Phoenix.

Marbury's offense has been phenomenal this season. Seems like he's modeled himself after J Kidd a bit. Looks to distribute early in the game to get guys involved, find the hot hand and conserve his energy. Then, in 4th Q, when teammates get a little tight and defense picks up, looks for his own offense. It's a good formula.

For him to take the next step, though, he's got to pick up his D. It's been alarming how easy opposing PG's have found it to blow by Marbs. Reminds me of the Mark Jackson days. Marbury, to state the obvious, is 10 times the athlete Jackson was, so if he concentrates on it, think he can improve here. Also like Lenny's strategy to cross match Marbs and Crawford on D when the matchups are right. Marbury's stronger than Crawford, and as long as we're not going against a tall 2 guard, think he often does better against the 2's and Craford better against the PG's.

Marbs will pass as long as guys make shots...it's when guys stop making shots that he starts to take the scoring load on more.

the only thing i want to see him improve on is his perimeter defense...other than that, his skills as a PG have never been in question in my eyes...he's definitely alot more mature than he used to be though.

He is still not in Kidds league for ball movement, but is a far better scorer.

He is maturing. I see Craw maturing and taking better shots.

Allan is not just coming back, he will be coming back all the way.

I would then worry about Isiah trading him!

Their length have a lot to do with that. Crawf is 6'5" long arms, and Steph is 6'2" not so long, but strong. However, I still believe that Marburry can be a deadly defensive player, but playing defense would hurt his energy level when we need him the most. That is why Isiah brought in Brewer to play the role.

He trusting his players.

Marbs used to shoot just because he felt no one else could. He's realizing that he can still have a tremendous impact without scoring. That is what he never could grasp.

He's always been a 20pt 10 assist guy. It's just now he realizes the fact that he doesn't even have to work to get the stats. That is what he brings to the game. Geez man i might gag on this Kool-Aide.

last night marbs did not take a shot in the 1st quarter, but had 7 assists, that was impressive, he looks good running the offense and he and craw are developing chemistry back there... I like what I see...

Marbury putting in a strong performance in the playoffs and being instrumental in taking them further than the first round would be turning a corner IMO.That would be a good start anyway.

I like what I saw last night too he had me saying to myself "nice pass steph"

Tkf, who did atlanta have in the backcourt? Marbury has been playing under control with a pass 1st mentality,I wanna see what
happens when he goes against a guy at the point who likes to score alot.

When Steph doesn't get drawn into one on one against a good scoring pt guard like an Arenas or Alston type then I will know he has matured and will run the offense the right way. The way that Isaiah and Lenny wants him to run.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

my problem with Marb is he still doesnt take pride in defense. When he gets beat he comes back looking to score. I want him to come back looking to get a stop.

On the other hand I dont want him to get away from scoring either. He's simply a great scorer.. one of the best one on one players in the league and one of the best PGs (if not THE best) at getting the rim and drawing contact. Part of Marbury's problem his whole career is people focus on what he doesnt do well. The guy is virtually unguardable

That's why I started the thread. Marbs was always a awesome scorer, but he forgets about his teamates. His assists this season have been very different than the assists from the past.

Last night was awesome cuz he was distroying the other team without looking at the basket. Then when the offense was stagnant he took over which is what he is supposed to do and what everyone knows basketball has been trying to make him understand.

Having Marbury play that role will always make the Knicks better than the rest. Get your teamates involved first and take over at the right times during games.

Beautiful man......things are looking good. It's like I can't wait to see how they play the next team. Beautiful.....
