No Luka, and Timmy goes off.

What did we miss? Kyrie gets to go off and be Kyrie if healthy. Hew was the best player on the court.
“But Mavs ****ed up and let Brunson walk!”
True, at 55mil he’d been a steal.
Instead they have Kyrie who is nuts. But if focused and not distracted by things, one hell of a player.
He is in year two of a three year deal and thus far has not gone off the rails.
Not saying Brunson is anything lessor then the great knick he is. Just saying for now Kyrie is doing his job as he supposed to. ANd last night he carried the team. For one night. THats all.

What if Kyrie isn’t crazy and it’s all of us who are living in our own private Idaho

Idaho very flat, this makes sense.

SergioNYK wrote:Frustrating loss. Didn't see it going this way tbh. Not with the way we have been playing. We came out flat and looked like the December Knicks on defense. Just low energy and lack of effort. I thought this was going to be one of those insane 40-50 points game from Brunson but he started out slow and played awful defense. Like he didn't respect and underestimated both Green and Hardy. He got it going in the second half and made some clutch plays in the 4th to spark the comeback. Kudos to the team for the comeback. A rebound here or there we might have won this game. No secret I really REALLY dislike Kyrie but give him credit. He was unbelievable. I thought OGA, DVo and Deuce all played good defense on him but it didn't matter. And Tim Sr.'s evil seed also killed us.

Poor game by Deuce. Made two bonehead mistakes getting the ball late to Randle at the end of the quarter and had another play where he just mistimed the set play and got a shotclock violation. Growing pains and he'll learn and get better. Achiuwa had his best game and gave us some decent minutes when Hartenstein got into foul trouble. OGA had a quiet game. Didn't limit Kyrie at all and missed most of his corner threes. Randle was a monster in the 3rd but had too many turnovers mainly from offensive fouls. The zebras were awful in this game btw. You know it's true when even Breen complains about it.

But they weren't the reason we lost. Kyrie was just really good and we weren't ready to play this game at the start. Cannot give up 74 points in a half on the road.

It was frustrating and the hype of this team has been off the charts.
We did not lose, we got beaten! Its the NBA, it happens. Kyrie hung 44 and carried them. Timmy freaking nailed them (Love the evil seed comment) and the ball did not bounce when we ere down just one and god gave them three chances to make a three!!!
It happens. In turn, we'll win a game we should lose at some point. Maybe our guys are tired, over confident? Not the fans to blame for feeling invincible!
Funny, Milwaukee who has been struggling then beats the snot out of Boston on the same night. Boston is the better team but did not "Lose" because they are on paper, they got beat!!!!! I watched some in the first half and the iso's were awful. They rely on them a lot. It was a bad look.

Im sure we will beat a better team at some point an in an 82 game season it all gets sorted out.
Brunson was a bit hyped to be playing back in Dallas and Randle likely had his whole family there and wanted to show up.
Almost pulled it out but they dug a deep hole and needed a break in the end. Instead Dallas got it.

Last night Mavs definitely came out ready to blitz us in transition. Knicks core strength is crashing the offensive glass, but that can definitely leave you susceptible to the fast break. Mavs came out playing very fast/energetic and were fortunate to hit every 3 early and we definitely got caught. We didn't hit our open 3's so coming back was a grind - and every time we made a nice run Kyrie/Tim caught fire again.

Still it felt winnable at the end - can replay that final minute over and over and missing out 3 rebounds. Long rebounds are not easy - may have missed having Josh Hart out there. DiVo made that huge 3 and don't get me wrong, he is aggressive on the boards, but we know great Hart is at securing those. Anyway can't dwell on it. To me - the fact that we did come back and make that a tight finish is the story. Yes it was a bad/unexpected loss, but this team has a lot of will/desire to win.

I blame Deuce!

We were not going to go undefeated post trade. Although I was hoping.
We came out flat early. They did not.
Team needs to realize that other teams will come out gunning for them with all the recent hype.
Credit to Mavs, Kyrie and Timmy. Played well.
We made a valiant run but did not get that clutch rebound needed at the end. Which btw, JHart would have made if he was in.
Did think the offense played selfish ball in the first half. Complete opposite from the last game.

Team needs to understand they just can't stare at internet pics of cheerleaders and get the win!
Thanks Todd!
