I’ve always wondered if Zion has been trying to tank (injure) himself out of N.O. - he really seemed to want NY at time of draft.

He is clearly going thru the motions right now - whether that has to do with displeasure with system or coach — he;s not engaged.

Heard a long time ago only way he will get out of NO is to get his max deal and then force his way out but no idea if that is what’s going on.

His body is so different and the attitude so in question that I would be very scared of going all in on him PLUS entire dynamic of team will cater to him and he just doesn’t shoot from perimeter, defend and when would he shut it down her? Just a very difficult player to judge —- with Bernard King for example back in the day — he had off court stuff but his body and desire to play wasn’t in question- with Zion everything is a ? Mark.

No thank you. Zion is not a NYC player with his eating habits and fondness of whores and strippers. I'd stay away.

We give up a ton of assets/talent to get him and a mega cap hit and then he goes into his first DNP streak and lazy habits…how do you think the media and bipolar fan base react and how long will it take them? Recipe for disaster.

If the price was Randle + another smaller asset we'd have to consider it. He raises our ceiling tremendously.

but I wouldn't empty the cupboard for him.

Players mature and have to put in the work. If he can, he can excel.
if he is a manchild and not growing into a professional I'd just as soon stay away.
Im not one so fast to discard Randle who despite his issues has the maturity, work habits, and strives to improve.
Perhaps we expect so much from him and when he lapses we berate him unfairly. I thing many fans don't give Randle the benefit of the doubt.
But......risks need to be taken if we are to improve over time. The KAT and Zion's need to be acquired by a reasonable price if so available.
Get stuck with a max deal and bad asset dooms us. This is a tough call.
I have never seen a player like Zion outside of Wes Unseld. He had a long career. Wes was a 22 year old rookie who was both ROY and MVP his first year in the league. He was a man.
Zion's talent is not the issue. Its durabilty.
He was out of breath in the interview? Seemed weird? Was he hyperventilating about stress? Or was the Krispy Kreme "hot now" sign flashing and he needed a Dozen.

Zion is easily a better player than Randle when healthy...but we all know the background of that. The other concern is his shooting. We can not afford to have a 4 that can't consistently be a 3pt threat with Mitch/Hartenstein already at the 5. We already do kind of have that problem with Julius so I guess it probably wouldn't be much of a step back.

It would definitely make me nervous...but Zion is a higher impact player than Julius.

In today’s nba where it’s all about the 3 is that really true about him
Being better than Randle. I’ve been very critical of Randle over the years but the guy has the ability to shoot the 3 which is necessary for spacing.

If you have Zion and Mitch on the floor together that’s 2 guys who can’t shoot from outside and will always be in the paint. I don’t care if Disney/ABC is obsessed with pushing this narrative that Zion is coming here so they can get tv ratings it would be the next great disaster I have to endure as a Knicks fan

If we add Zion, we need a backup plan to swap Mitch for a center who can stretch the floor. The paint is crowded now without Zion.
