he played well last night but clearly the outside shot is not there.
Brunson got shut down.
We can focus on what knicks did not execute but we fail to acknowledge enough the victors execution.
That was a hell of a performance by Giannis and then Lillard. No knick is in that caliber.
Bropez the "soft Net" is a shot blocking machine with range and the ****ing guy showed a handle too!
A guy that was often injured has been durable with longevity. It happens.
Middleton? Guy can still ball.
Bucks are contenders. Last night they clicked on all cylinders.
As for RJ, he was aggressive and got to the line.
Knicks have to evolve to have good games with all three and include Grimes. Its a process I hope can occur.
Randle was on a mission last night and looks to be dialed in.
Second unit? The passing and cutting with iHart in first half was impressive.
Randles save to DDV and he hits the Three!! impressive. Then Jalen steals the ball for an "and one", that was fun sequence.
I watched it delay and fell asleep midway thru 3rd period when we ere down 13. Woke up to the ugly. I was spared.
RJ is like the rest of the team. They are evolving. IQ has hit a wall also. Grimes is tucked away and obviously messed up by Thibian short leash policy.
This is not rec league, its cut throat. He is starting in the NBA and needs to do his job. Best to keep it in house than voice frustrations publicly.

LOL - I am tempted to ask you if you are still seeing the new shot form but I’m not going to do that on a night when RJ is setting records again.

I will say I wish he didn’t look like the slowest player in the league when he plays like this but looks like he has a piano on his back some nights

Quite frankly, I haven't been paying close enough attention

And you right about the piano part, very odd

Lots of stats after a bad game to gain clicks. Love to bait fans into anger.

Knicks have a better record than any of those other players listed.
NObody is happy with his decline since the headache. Knicks are middle of pack team.
What have we learned? Randle is not awful, Harden and clippers are starting to click, and maybe Knicks/RJ will work it thru over the season. OR not.

So many young wings I could swap in for RJ and not lose a second of sleep because at a minimum our athleticism, team speed, D, ball-movement and spacing would all perk up immediately.

So we’ve learned nothing and maybe fans should be worried.

We wouldn’t be able to click on those stats if they didn’t exist.

Clickbait stats? Really? Like that he missed 13 of 16 shots? Is that a "fake" stat?

Growing pains for any young player.
Questions, as always, are the same when factoring complaints.
1. Who can you replace him with?
2. How much is that replacement going to cost in assets and annual cap?
3. What are the new players negatives. They ALL have some.
4. Does replacing said player REALLY change things much?
5. How much time is adequate for a 22 year old to be given to fully develop?
6. How old is the guy you are replacing him with?

Easy to say this guy sucks or that guy needs to go but at the end of the day, few players will move the needle much on a team needing several high level pieces to compete for a chip.

Haven't you learned by now we need to do this after every bad game?

However:
He is currently 4th on the team in plus minus +52
He is currently shooting 35.4 from 3 (people regularly said he needs to be at 36%)(5th on team)
He is currently shooting 83% from the line (2nd on team)
He is currently last among the rotation in personal fouls
He is currently 2nd on the team in defensive rating (117.1, behind Grimes 117.8 and just ahead of Quickley 117.0)
He currently has a TS% of 53.7. Randle has a TS of 54.5.
He currently is on both of the Knicks best 2 lineups according to Net rating minimum 100 minutes played. (Yeah advamced stats!)

Stay the course, but also make sure it spills over to other shooting areas of game!

This actually is the best possible news about RJ. Just work on one area at a time over a given summer. This summer was the free throws. Fine, that a great start. Next summer it should be assists or threes. Then it could be whatever is left undeveloped.

It has taken me a while to get to the position of being patient. Been watching this kid for years and have seen the spark I want on several occasions. Its not all the time. Ebb and flow. But he came back from the summer with a vengeance and then it seemed like the team kind of forgot how to play team ball. If there was a trade that "fit" better for the Knicks - meaning someone more of a 3&D wing that would leave a few more shots on the table for others, I think the team would have to consider it. I don't think they can replace Randle (strengths and flaws) as easily as they can a guy like Barrett. But I don't need to make a move. And I don't see a lot of moves out there that make us better. I actually think a move that puts Barrett in the second unit is probably the right move. Kind of like how GSW used Wiggins.
This is the Randle.
