Could be that Bondy is just doing his job (and maybe it’s just me reading into this too much and this is all clickbait nonsense), but the recent uptick in KAT chatter is just weird to me.
Add in the Randle out of CAA move and things get weird. Randle, IQ, plus lots of picks for KAT. Minny gets someone to take over for Conley long term and get out from the KAT contract before the large numbers kick in and replenishes their draft assets. Knicks get their second offensive focus to work with Brunson and then you retool your roster to add shooters and defenders around KAT/Jalen. KAT in 8 seasons has 5 solid ones making three Allstar teams and putting up like 24 an 12 in 5 of those years. His first three he played 82 games EACH. Two more at 77 and 74 games. I think we discount him a bit based on the last few years where he has been in and out. I don't guess Randle changed agent because of chatter. Like I said, he reunited with his business agent and closely after got a big Sketchers deal. |

He may very well leave the game as one of the best shooting big men of all time. The questions surrounding revolve around his overall impact on winning. He's not a good defender and his intensity waivers. Still not sure where you even play him on defense because he's not really physical enough to be a center and he still consistently struggles keeping up with forwards and making defensive rotations. I see KAT as a lateral move. Sure, you can argue he's more talented than Randle. But the you have to factor in all the assets needed to bring him in. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.
