Pistons fans calling it the Malachi trade. 50 off the bench against the Hawks. Sheesh.

Just shows how good Deuce is that this guy couldn't come off the bench... Or maybe scoring is just inflated. 🤷

That’s a weird take

Maybe its because he wasn’t given the opportunity.

“Inflated” offense or not..scoring 50 in the NBA is a big deal, imo. This could have been a glitch in the matrix but if he turns out to be a baller, this falls A LOT more on Masai Ujiri, Webster and the Raptors for trading two quality players (Precious & Flynn) then it does on the Knicks

Malachi been known to drop a 50 bag in streetball games. I think he's a bit of a hot and cold guy, but he's a PacNorthwest baller in the mold of Crawford, but doesn't have Craw's size. I'm not sure he has enough to his game to be an NBA starter, but I think he's a guy who has some handles and a jumper that once in a while catches fire.

We actually didn't need to throw him into the Detroit deal to make it work under the cap, but they asked for him anyway and didn't let it be a deal breaker. In essence it meant swapping him for Shake Milton (who is honestly a similar player with more size). Maybe that was a bad move, but he probably wasn't gonna get real minutes here.

Anyway good for him to get to show off his skills.

Getting 50 out of Malachi - Pistons must have won, right? Right?!

Still lost! We lost Jalen's 63 and Julius 57 last year too

Doncic is certainly an elite passer/scorer but I don't know why the Knicks and Mitch can't find more opportunities like this

For me, our Knicks passers up and down the line miss too many opportunities and it's not as organic or fluid as it should be for the team as a whole. Mitch needs to do a bit more too on his end too quite frankly.

Mitch is not a clean catcher of the ball.

Mitch hasn't caught many lobs since Payton. I think part of it is that to be in position to catch a lob the roller has to trail a little sometimes and we'd rather Mitch get out of Brunson's way and get his nose right under the rim right away. I think another piece of it is that a lot of guys just aren't great at throwing that pass. Rose was really good at throwing lobs.

During most of that run Mitch was running point. He would help solve our ball handling problems when brunson goes to the bench. He would help the starters and the bench by just staggering their minutes a bit.
