that said, a lot can go wrong.

Could be a very fun season.

Tough? They stay healthy they are favorites. They will need 20 games to find chemistry?
If not, they might damn near run the table. But gotta have that luck and health thing.
Ask Gordan Haywood or JUles Randle about that. They both lost seasons in the first games. Jules as a rook, and Haywood on a 1st quarter ally oop gone horrible.
All teams need health and luck to win a chip.

Right. KP played 65 games last year... and that was the first he played more than 60 games in a season since being on the Knicks. That long ago.

All in and health will be Boston's biggest challenge.

he might also benefit from being the third or fourth option. Only take the easy shots...

they'll miss Smart and Williams for their toughness though

Jrue is a better version of smart.
They will miss Grant Williams grit.
But not his bull****.

The Celtics traded Smart and Brogdon for Holiday and Williams and Williams for KP. Plus several first rounders in the deal are they better ? Not the actual deals but that's the net.

While Wiseman is more talented with a higher ceiling - think Monty might yearn for Ayton after time with Wiseman. Maybe Bagley gets the nod as he seems to be a harder worker

With Duran they have three to pick from. Two should survive and move on. These guys are super young and have talent.
Question is which one will emerge?

Wiseman had plenty of red flags coming out of college. The idea of his game on paper never matches up with reality. He just processes the game too slow. I'm really surprised with Bagley. I thought he went to high in the draft, but I was sure a solid scoring big/garbage man at the very least. But he's looked more like Knicks legend Derrick Williams so far.

not sure if this was with reference to my post, and if so, i should have been clearer. I meant Robert Williams III (aka Time Lord)

they will miss his toughness, bounce and overall atheleticism

two great examples of drafting where not enough attention paid to brains and heart. Imagine if Kings picked Luka instead?

He played 209 games in 5 years. He really has played one full season with 60 games. After that its pretty dismal.
This kid can play but can't be counted on?
Look it up. It surprised me.

I recall he gritted it out in the playoffs but often played hurt.

Non Knick Schtick:

Charlotte Hornets guard Frank Ntilikina has started work in training camp on a non-guaranteed one-year contract, but he appears to have a very good chance of making the team, as head coach Steve Clifford rated him highly. "He's an elite defender," Clifford said of Ntilikina Tuesday. "He has an elite skill. Frank fits our team well to me. He's played a lot of NBA minutes." Ntilikina has six years of experience in the NBA, having suited up for the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks. He's never really made noise fantasy-wise, but the Frenchman's defensive ability is something that's always going to be valued by teams.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dude is hanging on by a thread. That deal: 2023-24: $200,000 guaranteed, fully guaranteed 1/10/24.
Assuming he makes the grade. But he has to stay healthy at least through January and hope he is not a roster spot casualty in the event of a trade.
Crazy he just turned 25 6 weeks ago!!

Knox is on an "Exibit 9" Contract. Barely holding on!!!!

His rep is excellent and he was really liked in Boston.
But.....with KP and Horford they got things covered to some extent.
Not sure if Blazers keep him or what the plan is for him. He is owed a bout 36mil for the 3 years.
Not a killer.
Issue is his durability. Odds were him and KP on same team was not good!

That is very cool.

Hey Martin I suck at trying to add videos or anything for that matter - have you added the ~8 minute Grimes video of him going back to have # retired at his HS? Very nice video and I didn’t see it in your Grimes thread (unless I missed it).
