This is crazy...
NBA players earn so much money it is insane some would risk their liberty to make a small amount of money (compared to their career earnings).

Former Net Terrance Williams is facing 10 years for being the mastermind behind the scheme to defraud the NBA health plan.

Other notables who are pleading guilty:
Alan Anderson

Anthony Allen
Shannon Brown
William Bynum
Ronald Glen Davis (Big Baby)
Christopher Douglas-Roberts
Melvin Ely
Jamario Moon
Darius Miles
Milton Palacio
Ruben Patterson
Eddie Robinson
Gregory Smith
Sebastian Telfair
Charles Watson Jr.
Antoine Wright

This happened a few years back, but looks like the hammer is starting to fall on these guys...

If you know someone who is close to becoming a professional athlete, they should watch ESPN's "Broke". Its professional athletes in different sports recounting how they went broke. The full version is on youtube somewhere.

Im guessing a lot of these players blew their most of their fortune.

The thing about money and wealth is that it is never about the absolute, but rather the relative amount. Regardless of how much money you have, you inevitably find yourself among a circle of people who have comparable and often greater amounts than you, which makes you feel inadequate in comparison and makes you hungry for more. And even when you reach the pinnacle, you see Warren Buffet slyly smiling at you, because he does not give a hoot about how much money he has. And then you realize that you have been like a dog chasing its own tail.

You see NBA players getting these gargantuan $150-200m deals these days, and then hear them cry out in amazement and envy when they learn about Kylian Mbappe being offered over $1bn for his next contract.
