I think the 2016 Lakers vs the 2020 Lakers is something to look at. They overcame D'Russell's antics in the locker and several years of moderate to unsuccesful lottery picks (in the rookie scale timeline) into Lebron and Davis and a chip. They found a number of gems out of next to nothing but playing time.
