- will likely result in fewer of these crazy max contracts for non-max guys
- overall salary deflation for guys 7 to 9 - these guys should be paid at the mid level, not starter salary of 18 to 20 million per year
- guys 10 to end of bench will be rookies or second rounders on rookie scale contracts (which don’t count against the cap, so second rounders are better), or vet minimums- no more “15.9 million d rose mentoring contracts” for unplayable players
- second rounders are more valuable than late firsts as the salaries don’t count against the cap
- devaluation of stockpiling more than 10 draft picks as will be hard to make those picks, hence overpaying with many picks in trades
- more stash picks / euros to burn the excess picks that must be used but no roster spot
- more undrafteds to 2 way contracts as there are now 3 2-way contracts per team
- fewer “old veterans” on high legacy contracts
- more league parity - with increased premium placed on coaching and player development
- fewer big trades due to contract bloat
- increased premium on height/size - hence smart for porzingis
- increased emphasis on the G league for development and call ups
- teams keeping a roster spot or two open
- fewer older players
