first scoring option, clutch player, finisher, high IQ, always seems to break you down man the right play.

24ppg in his first year on great shooting stats

28ppg, 40mins, 2 TOs in 11 post season games and shot well. We have a 26 year old star player

A wonderful season and acquisition. I hope we don’t build him up to the point of unreasonable expectations and then blame him when convenient.
I thought it was kind of gross to see videos of bing bongers tearing down Randles picture near the Garden. Chant “MVP” one week then vilify him another.

Completely agree. I think he’s a top 20 player with room to grow. Just need to get him some help.

Seems rather NY to me. No surprises with NYers. That’s the culture unfortunately. Impatient, cold hearted, no nonsense. Plus a 50 year drought on top, and boom the birth of bing bong.

JB has been outstanding this season and playoffs. I too did not expect to get a damn superstar in free agency. We just needed a PG in the worse way and got more. What is his ceiling?

Lowry was and is a tough defender with 3 & D skill set from the PG position.
Both can hit big shots.
But JBs footwork, change of pace, hezzy, spin moves, up and under, faders……..I can go on.

They are opposite to be. Where Lowery is great at defense, JB is weak to average. Where JB is great on offense and Lowery is average to good.

Both are PGs I would love to have on my team. Both great as far as their impact on the team from the same position. Similar in ht and size. Both move at their own speed. Maybe I just talked myself into agreeing. They are similar but JBs offensive bag and clutch performance, add in leadership and floor general, thats superstar level. CP?

Brunson reminds me more of Baron Davis pre-injuries.

Baron Davis was a high flying FAST athletic wonder.
Brunson is a fundamentally crafty player with very good strength.
GO watch some highlights of how Baron would blow by his man and finish.
If anything, he (davis)was similar to Donovan mitchell in some aspects.
Brunson in some ways reminds me of Tony parker. Very crafty in the paint. Jalen might be better from long range. Different era.

Tony Parker is a good one but truthfully JB doesn’t have a comp. He’s a combination of several players not even at his position.

If

hakeem olajuwon
Tony parker and Lowry

Had a baby

It would be Brunson

LOL, Ok,
Hakeem? Actually the crafty pivot foot move thing reminds me more of Larry Bird or Kevin McHale. neither was not a great jumper.
So if a hamster, a Bird, McHal, Tony Parker and Lowrey got together, you'd have JB!

Is that what's been slowly growing under Lowry's back? I thought he was birthing basketballs.

We all thought Randle was great, after his first All Star appearance and most improved year. In comes JB and now Randle is 3rd option. Some are saying forget Randle and build around JB, after only his first year? Thats how special Brunson is.

If we keep this same team, all I ask for is a legit number 2 player. To me a number 2 player is consistent, reliable and understands how to utilize their skill set. I thought RJ and Randle would be #2 and #3 but I was wrong. In the playoffs, all I saw was JB and non-shooting role players. Give this dude some help please. Right now the NBA has a lot of parity.

Soon this years #1 pick will take over the league soon. The Spurs will not waste time building around this kid and I believe within 3 years he will be the best player in the NBA. So Rose, we have 3 years to build a championship team around Brunson. Maybe we already have those pieces, I don't know. And I'm not sure we should wait to find out. Special players like JB don't come around too often. But wanna-be #1's like RJ and Randle are a dime a dozen. JB the finisher is special.
