To me grimes is an absolute key.

I’m not sure if he was hurt but he was poor offensively in the playoffs. He needs to slow his gane down a notch and use the dribble to make plays. When he uses his dribble now it’s on head fakes and then he’s on a b line and gets into trouble too much near the basket. Slow down. Play basketball pass dribble shoot. He needs more fluidity less statuesque movements. We need him

and he needs to learn when he can slow down some

he's too good a player to be this bad on offense. Miami was ignoring him until he hit a shot

while i am not adverse to the idea of him dribbling more, i am adverse to the idea of another iso player. we need someone who can just plain shoot

He needs to refine his in-between game. He's made some good passes when he gets there, but I don't think he knows how to score consistently. A floater would help.

Being the fourth option on offense is tough - more so on this team as they do not move the ball well. Very hard to assert yourself in that position. Hopefully the team finds away to involve him more and he grows into a bigger role in the offense.

Obviously things need to change and Grimes quick release and ability to dribble and pass with great speed gives us a tool.
How that happens is anyones guess.

we need Grimes and some others to do is hang out with JB all summer, watch some film, share some moves.

What Jalen has between his ears is a lot of smarts- and we need him to smarten our guys up.

McBride, Grimes, IQ, Barret- you get those guys picking up some JB moves- and I think we saw some during the season- then you have the team you need to compete for a championship.

And everybody has to perfect their 3pt shot. If open, they have to nail down a super high percentage.

He’s afraid, nervous, shy - whatever you want to call it the kid can’t seem to slow down a second or handle the ball for a few dribbles.

He always treats the ball like a hand grenade - like he’s got 1 second before it blows.

Love the kid but it would be nice to see him just get comfortable and don’t put this on Thibs/Julius because Grimes played same way in Vegas….basically catch-shoot or attack rim — no in between and no sense of pace.

he definitely needs to develop a pace to his game, and he needs to shoot a lot more. He defers a lot and he needs to learn that he's not helping his teammates if you're not a threat to score.
