Thibs should have adjusted.
How?
Did he try and we did not or could not execute?
The bench got depleted. We got banged up. We got beat by a team that did many things better than us.
So we learn Thibs biggest fault is he over achieves in the regular season setting up fan expectations then when the reality is faced the bloated fan is left aghast. Sad how this works with the emotional needy fan. Somehow the expectation is set and the very players or coaches that bought you to the party is not the cause of the disappointment. Its ok to be sad, but trying to validate the blame on others is kinda funny.
I’ll take the participation trophy home, put it on my mantle as a reminder of the fun I had this season. I know, some of you are true champions in life and settle for nothing but total victory. Some of us are ok smelling the roses and enjoy the journey. Not about being right or wrong, but the art of competition and the beauty of the struggle and the victory if that is pursued.
One day perhaps in the not so distant future we win a chip. I’ll look at my rings and it won’t have one of those wonderful team rings. My savings account won’t be worth 50 million, and Jules will be living hopefully a wonderful life with a ring, and if not, other satisfactions from his success and family life.
I’ll wake up the next day and life will be the same. Nalod won’t be a champion. The Journey will have been fun and ensuing nostalgia will be also be cool.
There is the morning after. Had a nice tennis match today, and will do some paperwork and work on planning the next home renovation project been in the works for while. Kitchen expansion with new seating. Budget for new sonos sound bar, sub and surround speakers. I’ll be ready for next season for dinnertime viewing.
