Vs ATL he was out manned and inexperienced.
Since March 29th 2023 he has missed games and been playing on a bad ankle.
SInce then knicks beat the Cavs.
Obi has not stepped up. Randle is all we got. We need more from our back up 4. Thats on Obi or FO to figure it out.
Im taking the route a bit more empathetic. our two best players Brunson and Randle are fried. We don’t get here if not for the regular season and they carried it farther than expected.
We are seen limitations on our guys both physically and mentally. This is better than praying for the lottery.
Its mid may and we still playing. We earned respect from league, media and made new fans!
Feels like we done. If so congratulations to Knicks and its fans for a really good season! Always work to be done but Nalod taking a moment to measure with gratitude.

We know Randle is beat up and we also know he's a mental headcase. He is what he is. Is it Randle's fault or the coaches fault for enabling him?

I've always asked this question before (to others) and have never really gotten a solid reply back. How do you hold a guys like Randle accountable and how does that work in the bigger picture of things? Bench him for a lower performing Obi and absolutely lower your chances of winning games or creating mismatches for your team? It's a hard proposition in any shape or form. Same as any high performing member of any team within any type of organization or company or department. There is a very small window of management for those type of people who dont know how to do that themselves and also have the emotion makeup that is kinda whack but who also are incredible high performing for your team when right.

For any player in that type of situation really. Does Kerr enable Draymond and his antics? Or should he just bench him at the cost of games and such for GSW? Etc etc

selective tweets can be very influential. Does not tell the whole story about his season.
Like I said, not happy with whats happening but seriously, after a full allstar season and a bad injury we don’t cut him any slack? 47 win and 5th seed and this is all we got? He was not great vs. Clev but we won. He was hobbled for sure.

Do I think he is a good fit on this team? No. I think he is stunting ball movement and RJ/Grimes a bit.
He does some things really well in iso, but I won’t cry if he traded. Not becuase he is made gone, but who comes in at the 4 in his place. Randle gone is one thing but who comes in and how that works is another.

It definitely does not. But it does tell us a story about meeting playoff intensity in a VERY important game and that should also not be overlooked or at all minimized.

Playoff games MATTER in this context. Especially for someone of Randle's talent and experience.

Every person in pretty much all capacities have full control of their own efforts. Maybe execution is wildly different from day to day and I'm good with that. Effort is controllable.

I mean, Kerr did eventually bench Draymond earlier in the playoffs and they won... Sometimes it's about sending a message to the players and setting a floor for the minimal effort that's allowable. Randle is good, but he's not that good. Could you imagine Butler, who's also beat up, pulling some of that crap?

Still would trade Randle for Green.

I could have gone with the new Al Harrington. That team with Q Rich, ah good times.

It's definitely time to cut ties with him....I would have moved him before the contract extension...
