That's the situation. If we lose the next game we are done, you might as well stick a fork.. Winning it makes our series best out of 3 with home court advantage. Plus it gives us momentum.

Would be best if we won, but there’s a reason it’s best of 7.

Team has to rise to the occasion though. We have had Miami’s number all season. It’s time to pick up the intensity and take back the home court advantage.

It’s time. Gotta step up.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I think I’d go back to starting grimes
Certainly not to punish hart but to change the chemical balance of the rotation

I agree and then leave him in the court for about 35 minutes — he provides the defense along with the POTENTIAL for play making and shot making that we sorely need.

Watching the shot making in some of these other series and comparing to ours ———— dear lord.

Would love to read tomorrow that during Knicks film session Josh Hart dove over 4 chairs to jump on Julius Randle - yelling “Wake up MUDDAFUGGA wake up, stop dogging it or get the hell off this team”.

Maybe Deuce could sneak in with a sucker punch as well.

Not 1 knock down 3 point (not counting Fournier) shooter on Knicks - imagine if Herro wasn’t injured and was dropping 30 in our heads.

Max Struss is a nice little player with great stroke.

This group is just too inconsistent and lacks strong character, identity, and someone capable of simply taking over and willing it to victory.
I think game 3 was the must win one for us, and the fact that the Knicks came out flat indicates that we do not have that winners' spirit yet.
It's a gradual process, last year we were not in the playoffs at all, so there has been good progress this season regardless of its outcome.

Don't know if the Knicks have anyone like AD or Embiib or Bulter, but a healthy Knicks team is vastly different than the one we are seeing.

Knicks collective can be much better IMHO. We've seen it; it's a flawed product for sure but much better than you are projecting.

I came on to talk about the same thing but see you both posted it first. Thibbs needs to put Grimes back into the starting lineup and tell him to shoot and keep on shooting. We have got to get some more 3pt offense, and we need Hart to come in off the bench and give us a boost to our second unit. It might even be time to start thinking about giving Fournier a few minutes, especially if Quickley is limited.

Trust the Process

I'm in this camp. Hart needs to provide the courage for the second unit. ANd Grimes needs to hit some shots

100% agree. Heat are doing precisely what they want and NEED to do. They prefer a rugby game because it plays to their strengths/scrappiness.

We are a very good team and have a very good coach but we need some ninja/judo counter to this agression. Ironically, Heat has done that to us and our agressiveness on the offensive boards/ They're taking a play from our own playbook where we let Obi leak out for fast breaks. Now, if we have the team crash the boards, we lose balance and they have those long outlet passes. We need to channel our own version of that

shades of what riley had with Starks and Rolando Blackmon on the bench. Yes, we know what riley should have done but we don't know the real outcome do we?

Yeah. There should be no doubt that Randle is at much less than 100% and we need his toughness and body work. Just doesn't look like he has it right now

We are not playing at a high level. Either the Heat are totally stifling us, or we're not executing/putting too much pressure on ourselves. A banged up Brunson doesn't help. This is definitely a gut check time for the team - can't rest on just being happy to win one series. This is a winnable series against a team they were able to beat this season (even in a must win game for playoff positioning). Would like to see them play with the confidence they had in the Cleveland series

During seven playoff games, he is shooting just 34.6 percent from the field and 22.9 percent from deep on almost seven 3-point attempts a game. Of the 118 NBA players who have played at least four playoff games and at least 60 playoff minutes, he ranks 113th in true shooting and 114th in effective field-goal percentage, the two best all-encompassing measures of efficiency. Meanwhile, no player surrounding Randle shoots nearly as often as he does. Miami defenders are swarming the middle of the floor whenever a Knicks driver, including Randle, approaches the rim. The Heat don’t trust New York’s 3-point shooters, a strategy that has paid off so far. The Knicks shot just 8 of 40 on 3-pointers in Game 3, which the Heat won, after shooting 7 of 34 from deep in Game 1, Miami’s other victory. – via Fred Katz @ The Athletic

I wouldn't be shocked if Randle is struggling with pain killers or some other substance abuse issue. Pure speculation obviously.

And to get Grimes locked in on scoring. Hart is NOT going to be allowed by the Heat to score in the lane. They have shut down the paint scoring and daring us to shoot better. Grimes can do that but he needs to get into his groove.
