Only a moron coach and idiot low IQ player allows RJ Brickett to shoot 0-9 from 3pt land when they were shooting 11-15 from 2pt shots. Minus 13 morons. I laugh at people saying he had a great game. He needs to go for a smart efficient or upgrade player next year. Sick of his average to below Def, His terrible 3 stats most nighs when we need him and a chickenshat coach who doesn't hold players accountable. But if Obi misses 2 shots right to the bench playing 11 mins. Gets rid of them both next year. To the rest of the team, great effort and terrible refs.

Turn those 9 shots into 2s and he scores 10 to 12 pts more. How much did we lose by? The team shot 33% from 3 despite him.

Same thought. If he’s still sick they win that game. It’s a throwaway game but still.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I said this about allowing EF to shoot the rust off. Maybe he needs a game like this?

But RJ just isn’t a good shooter. He better come back next year with a higher percentage, the ability to nail the open 3. Because when he is wide open and shooting the 3, I never feel like it’s going in.

He makes 3’s like the folks shooting the half court heaves at half time - it’s pure luck that it goes in. And even there, some of those folks that take them, you can tell they’ve practiced!

When EF’s shooting is off he really hurts us.

When EF is shooting lights-out he only hurts us a little.

Either way…

Just my opinion. I don’t see us using him in the playoffs unless we’re desperate. I’d love to eat those words.

No one is that bad at 3 point shooting without some type of mental or confidence issue. A coach might actually want to use a throw away game for a slumping player to try and find his touch. It didn't happen, but I'm not going to lavel Thibs as a "moron coach" ....simple over reaction.

He’s bad - it’s clear - hoping for a solid trade and some other team being asleep at the GM level.

And he was the 3rd overall pick...what a waste!

The win would have been meaningless, where as allowing him a chance to shoot out of his 3 point slump could be the better investment for the playoffs. Usually I'd agree with you, but in this situation I think it was the right thing to do.

I’m thinking EF situationally- end of game, down 2 or 3, 10 seconds left. And even there- I’m not sure he is getting in over our regular guys that Thibs uses.

Thibs is no idiot - look at the way he has the rest of our team playing intelligently and with great effort.

Thibs is however stubborn and when he chooses a path with a player it’s hard to get him to change direction— for whatever reason from day 1 he’s given RJ the green light to do whatever and he hasn’t wavered.

It’s a similar pattern that Randle has rewarded him for at least for the most part except RJ isn’t talented as far as my eyes can tell.

I have a feeling this is a teaching moment for RJ from Thibs. This is a throwaway game before the playoffs, so this is the best time to do this. Thibs let RJ shoot all those 3s to prove a point. Showing him that he needs to be more efficient or the team loses.

Every franchise does this to a certain degree. RJ and Randle have been the Knicks highest ceiling player.

Should be no surprise?

Major point here. No one was or is in denial of the shortcomings in these guys' games. But the rush to put them on the scrap heap and sell low does no one any good. All we have to do is review what has gone down with Randle in the last year. And the point about the high ceiling - the ability - it isn't good business to just toss it in the garbage can. You see what you can do to get them back on track.

I'm also not saying you just ignore it.

0-9, maybe the “idiot” was the coach telling him its ok to let it fly and play free and easy?
Do we really think RJ defies his coaches and is delusional? Or coaches sense something is uptight and gotta let it go to get to the next level?
IM guessing. Thats it.
