What in it for the fans?
By that, does the team get a pass or bump up in playoff standings?
Does team that loses in the final game get that loss as part of their record? I read something about 83 game seaons for winning team?
When is this thing to happen? What about other teams eliminated, do they stop playing and get a break? The team not in “final 4” in vegas, what are they doing? Nothing?
In College in the past you had conf series and some good Thanksgivng games that added to rankings. Something for the fan.
Conf. Titles in college are bragging rights but you also had rivalries and it mattered for NCAA seedings.
March Maddness is fun, but its a tournament and “national champion” is a bit diluted. But there is a lot for the fans and its fun as hell.
Minor league baseball used to so some fun things like first half winner of season played second half winner for there championships.
Teams that started strong were rewarded. The early season games were meaningful and thus the fans had something too.
Maybe NBA can do something to reward teams for early season wins and standings.
First half winner, second half winner and Tournament winner. If a team wins all three maybe a first round bye? Financially compensated of course (to the owner also for games missed).
Maybe give them more money to resign players also so a good team can stick together longer?
Kudos to league with playin as more teams are vying for a spot and keeping interest where was not any.
