When the opposing team is missing two of its starters and one of its key bench players (who'd be a starter on a lot of other teams) and you still can't pull it out, missing only one starter, who is arguably the most overpaid player in the league, there is not much to be happy about. They played hard, that's good. Nazr is improving, that's good. KT is becoming more and more tradeable, that's good.
Still, this team has Marbury, who just isn't a good PG. He's a very talented player, but he can't play a lick of D, doesn't really know when to pass and when to shoot, and doesn't know how to control the floor. You see him yelling at guys? That doesn't work with most people, even if Marbs is right about their mistakes. He's still learning how to play the game! That's ridiculous. Maybe if he'd stayed in school, he would be better now. I know he WANTS to be better, but he's just not smart enough. The other players will eventually turn on him, like they've done everywhere else. Lenny is soft, everyone in Atlanta and Toronto knows this, but switching him with Suhr, who is well-hated throughout the league, or anyone else, won't make Marbury a great PG. Scott Skiles can't fix Chiacgo, nor could a tough-guy coach fix NY.
The rest of the starters don't deserve to be starters in this league (well, okay maybe in THIS league, since it has too many teams and too many players who don't yet know how to play the actual game as it was intended).
If I had Crawford, TT, KT, and Nazr coming off the bench on my team, I'd feel pretty good about it, but the fact that they're starters at the highest team salary EVER in the league, it's just insane.
Anyway, I don't post often because I always end up saying the same thing. This will continue to be a disappoitning team as long as that fat drunk Dolan owns it. I like the urgency the players seem to have this year, and they play a more exciting game than in years past, and I'm still rooting for them to be better than they should be, and yes, I'm aware that the season just started, but realistically, they'll be fortunate to finish at .500. No trade Isiah makes could possibly get this team out of the middle of the league.
Their only hope to get into the playoffs is the fact they are in the worst division in all professional sports, which I think is what Isiah is betting on. He may be a slimeball, but he's a cunning slimeball.
I don't know, maybe they should trade for Artest. I haven't been to a good fight in a long time.
