$30 a bit rich for me, but still nice to have another option other than cable.

The current app - MSG Go - is great, use it all the time if out of the house or just can't claim the TV that night. Obviously you currently need a cable subscription to use it, but there's no location requirement like the Verizon Fios app, which you have to be so close to the cable box in order to connect. Just hope they maintain that quality with MSG+.

You can just use the NBA app, which is significantly cheaper if you're living in Peoria. Sure, there will be a few blackouts, but it's 1/3rd the price.

league pass as like $100 and I get all the games. I don’t watch really more than knicks.
$100 for the whole season. Thru my youtube I get unlimited DVR and all the games are on auto record. I start an hour or so later and blow thru the commercials. Somtimes I only watch 2nd half if its late.

That MSG app is a bit pricy. But, if you just do it for Nov thru april its 6 months. $180.
If you a hockey fan too its worth it. If not, just do league pass if you out of market. Or get cable.
Knicks games for free is not a human right.

If we are plugging apps, I use Uzzu.

I just reupped I think $117 for the year. All NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB games. Its a website, but has an app for certain devices.

Not only do you get direct links to live games ( no recording), you get a bunch of other channels. if you are looking for a cheap alternative, check it out.

Martin, if this is too much of a plug or not the right fit to be mentioned in your forum, if this gets deleted I understand.

Cord cutting makes no sense if you live in the NY area and want to watch the local teams. The mlb and nba apps don’t work if you are anywhere within a 100 mile radius of NY if you want to see Knick or yankee games. The msg go app only works if you aren’t cord cutting and are paying for a cable tv package that has MSG.


When I didn’t live in NY cord cutting was easy. The nba tv app was $20 a month and mlb was $60 a year with a discount I received.

That cost is absurd. I havent cut the cord (living in NYC) because I don't want to have to struggle to watch the Knicks and Yankees. Too tired after work to flip to multiple streaming apps. This is just a highway robbery cost structure though.

Yup, NFL Sunday ticket is the most expensive one. I went without it for a few weeks until a realised I was dropping $100 a week at the sports bar and the app was cheaper in the long run 😁

I have that double whammy. Outside of NYC but still in NY (so in-market) and compete with the Buffalo market which gets priority on MSG some times.

MSG is the only reason I'm still paying $140 for Fios a month. I was thinking of switching to Fubo but I heard negative things about their service plus they do not have TNT.

Im on the $50 annual league pass deal. Not much of a fan of NY sports outside of Knicks so I'll stick with it lol

I do the Fubo and love it. Not having TNT is the only downside for me.

The $10.00 for individual games seems to be overpriced. I purchase individual games to watch on my laptop for $5.99 on NBA.com. Wonder how that's going to work out in the future.

I had web based Sunday ticket one year (was living in an apt so I fell in the exception). I think it was $375 for the season. Insanely expensive compared to nba tv and MLB tv

Hopefully YouTube tv is better. I can’t fathom a way it could be worse

I was paying $160 for basic cable that had the sports channels. I cord cut and it brought my bill down to just $100. It was cheaper but not by a lot and I still had to pay for apps. The cable companies know everyone is trying to game the system and they have adjusted the pricing

I cut the cord a long time ago and I love it. I use VPN and NBA league pass. Granted I only watch Knicks and the NY Giants.
