I dont know if anyone has followed this story but his teammate supposedly shot a female and killed her. Miller didnt shoot her but he SUPPLIED the weapon used in the shooting and was present when he shot. In some states thats an accessory to murder--I guess in alabama its a nothing? But should he be allowed to play basketball for the rest of the year? and if youre an nba team--do you have questions now on this kid who was a top 5 lock?

I don’t know all the facts but seems to me he he should be charged with accessory to murder. Apparently he faces no charges. I don’t want him on my team.

For a hyped draft class he’s been the only impressive prospect outside of the top 2. Now it’s hard to draft him. History says he probably ends up in Charlotte.

They were talking about this on DC sports talk...

everything Briggs says appears to be true, but the story is blowing up because Nate Oats had such a piss poor reaction to everything. He said something like 'he was in the wqrong place at the wrong time.'

A few things I picked up from reading a couple of articles. Miller and Miles went out to the club that night. Miller left because the line was too long, but his boys wanted to stay. So it's possible Miles left his gun in Miller's car to gain entrance in the club. Unfortunately, you don't need a concealed carry permit in Alabama. Miles texted Miller that he felt threatened and wanted his gun back and Miller drive back and gave him his firearm. Miles gave the gun to the other dude and who fired the weapon. Now, this definitely makes you question Miller's decision making and the company he keeps. But the legality is murky. Did Miller give Miles the gun knowing he was going to shoot homegirl? I don't know and I'm not sure I'd trust Alabama law enforcement enough to get to the bottom of this.

If he is top 3 there is no way he drops to us. None of us know what actually happened,he could have been trying to stop his friend from shooting for all we know

No way in hell the current FO would entertain drafting this guy. Which would be fine by me. This isn't "boys being boys.' "Wrong place at the wrong time" is an idiotic, pathetic take. This is murder over stupid stupid s#!t.

Police also allege that Miller parked his car to block the girlfriend from leaving. Someone will draft him and not care . Innocent until proven guilty I guess.

It sounds like Miller never even touched the gun. Miles left the gun under some clothes and Miller claims he didn't know it was there. He was going to pick Miles up and on his way there got a text from Miles that he was under duress. Miles retrieved the gun from Millers vehicle. Video and time stamps confirm Miller's account and that's why there was no charge. Also, he didn't block the victim's vehicle with his car. Alabama police did a poor job of explaining the minutes leading up to the killing. Not saying Miller has no culpability, but not enough to be charged. This is a sad story and the suspects deserve to have the book thrown at him. But it's clear that some in the media space were irresponsible in the way they covered this and went with some of their own head cannon without gathering all the facts

I came to say I may have been wrong, and sorry

why I thought he was that guilty so passionately though is that the State's testimony, and the reaction to their testimony, makes it seem that he would have been charged if there was a chargeable crime on their books... but I can rebut what I said with there's three sides to every story, his side, her side, and the truth. So to your point, I doubt any of us will ever know the truth

I think it was always a fallacy to assume the top half of the lotto was going to get the equivalent of the #1 overall pick because it is a double draft....

the top of the draft is exciting... yes... but where I think the real value is in this draft is the first 10 picks of the second round. Players drafted their are should be able to play in the NBA, and you get the benefit of a potential rotation player on favorable contract terms. I think you see someone like Desmond Bane drafted around #40 this draft

Well more to be revealed I suppose. I wouldn’t take his lawyer’s statement as absolute gospel but the police saying they have no reason to charge him is what it is. They like their guns down there.

The point of how it affects his draft status is different. If these drunken murderers are his close pals then I wouldn’t care to have him on the Knicks no matter how talented he is. Just me.
