Actually, he is a PG. In the same way you can sub Obi for Sims, no reason you can't sub one position's minutes for another, it is all about chemistry. For example, since they DNP'd Hyland a PG, his position has been mostly replaced by Brown, who is officially a SF under the ESPN trade machine, not even a SG like you assumed for Hyland. I think some positions and players are fluid, could be either or multiple positions. Also, not everyone needs to be a defensive sparkplug, some can be offensive ones. He is young and there are worse defenders, just maybe he improves if taught in the right environment.

If you want to beat the competition, that takes a pick these days.Who would complain about having 2 Quickleys on the team? Obi isn't a Thibs guy it seems. Who's minutes would Hyland take, umm Obi's. Their coach seems to want more size at the PF and thinks Hyland's scoring prowess isn't needed from his bench. Makes no sense, but that is their view. I guess once they got Jamal back, Hyland's value dropped and they seem to prefer Brown's length as a backup.
Hyland is a SG who plays zero D?
I don't know how he would take Obi's minutes when they don't play the same position
