Per
@TheSteinLine
in his just dispatched newsletter, Cam Reddish trade talks are intensifying, w/ Mavs, Bucks & Lakers in pursuit. Knicks looking for "2nd round draft compensation" and "are angling for Dallas to send Thibodeau favorite Reggie Bullock to NY" in any Mavs deal

Bullock hasn’t been great but there’s a guy Thibs will trust for 20 mpg.

Surprised the Mavs would still want to do business with us. Of course they do love our players.

Pointless trade.

We away a first rounder for Reggie Bullock. We need shot creation in the second unit not what we should be looking for.

I’m guessing he wouldn’t cost a first. If Knicks are just trying ti plug a hole than he may come cheaper. A first would be for a bigger piece. Moving cam and let’s say a second or cash is a way to salvage the cam deal somewhat, because we know bullock would have value here as a defender and leader.

And - for better or worse- he has Thibs’ “trust.”

Knicks signed Fournier to upgrade over bullock in the starting lineup. Now the Knicks want bullock as a bench upgrade over Fournier. In the words of Will Ferrell on Zoolander, it’s funny how it switches like that.

He's 5 fouls and he doesn't make a lot of mistakes with the ball. No upside, but I'll take the consistency.

Forgot Reggie has $5.5M guaranteed next season and he gets his full $10M if the team picks him up in May. Definitely need a 2nd rounder for that move. A bit of a digression, but the Knicks do need to replenish second rounders lost from the draft night trades and the tampering charge.

I agree Knicks need more shot creation. Bullock is still an ok option because he won’t be asked to do much and the things he will be asked to do he does well and has proven in this system. Knicks seem to have success when they stick to their system and bullock is a proven fit.

Listen I have been a Cam guy from the start but he’s toast here and his value is poo ….not getting better either.

In terms of Bullock he is a legit defensive wing with nice length and a 38% 3P AND 85% Ft maker on his career plus he’s someone Thibs loves.

Now when looking at salary — I’d prefer to move Rose straight up for Bullock and maybe get something else for Cam but Bullock fits a need. I agree we need another creator/ball handler on 2nd unit but distance shooting is a need and we already have 4 guys who want ball in their hands Brunson/Julius/RJ/Quick.

It’s a shame Cam couldn’t stick in rotation I have to think he either said the wrong thing (trade me) or just has a horrible attitude because no reason for Thibs to want him to fail.

Cam also looked mediocre at Duke/ Hawks

Anyone think Lakers might be desperate enough to take Rose for Reeves/L Walker and Dunn package.

Trade works in tracker but maybe too much for Lakers to give up without maybe some 2nds from Knicks.

I think Reeves is a Thibs type scrapper and Walker could turn into a solid backup at SG.

Don't think LAL does that. I don't think they expect much in the postseason if they even make it. I think they're looking forward to freeing up money with Westbrook and seeing what shakes open down the line.

Not sure what the additional comp would be on either side but bullock for Reddish works straight up in trade checker.

I said something in another thread about a trade with Dallas that netted them Bullock, Hardaway, and Wood.

Trade should be Reddish for Bullock and a second ideally. While Bullock doesn't have Cam's "ceiling", he fills a need. He plays Thibs, and he has Thibs trust and will play.

Bottom line, he would be a cheap upgrade off the bench as a cheap 3 and D 3 position backup.

Cost aside, this is the type of deal that makes sense. Get a contributer without really upsetting the balance.
