To me very interesting as he absolutely seems like a Thibs guy. He is as hard nosed and pesky as they come as a defender. He can guard 4 positions. You see the Bulls generally put him on a guy as big as Julius Randle down the stretch of games. Offensively he's not much, but he can knock down a 3 at 37-40% clip. He is a piece that can make some sense. They speculate a young player+ first rounder which I think is too much, but would the Bulls have a look at Reddish + 2nd rounders? I won't disagree with anything you are saying. And yet, over the past 6 weeks - more than half of the games played this season - the Knicks have a very high Offensive Rating https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced?DateFrom=12/04/2022&dir=A&sort=OFF_RATING Like 4th best in the league. It's confounding. They pummel you and get offensive rebounds so maybe that's why the numbers are inflated? IDK Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

Weirdly the lack of assist means less turnovers. And the offensive rebounding means extra possessions. It mitigates the lack of ball movement. Plus Brunson being a very high percentage shooter for a player who self creates so much inside and outside makes a big difference. Most shot creating guards who take a lot of threes still make under 45% from the field overall. |

I did see that we were ranked #5 in the league the other day, & it surprised me. Don't get me wrong, this team is gritty, but Brunson, Randle, and RJ are going to be dead by the end of the season, & we will suffer if someone like Grimes only takes 5 shots in an overtime game. A pet peeve...watching folks give up the ball to Randle to slowly bring it up the court after a defensive rebound. Why should he be ball handling like a PG.
