Actually it’s him in High School. But it’s a lot more fund thinking of the Orange team as the Suns.

how did he fall in the draft, I know he sat out a year, but still!

And what happened to his shot? I know the NBA is faster bigger stronger, but so is Mitch! At least this version of him is.

I know it's HS but he seems to have a decent stroke that he could use - at least occasionally. He's also claimed that Thibs offense doesn't allow for his game (something like that) to show his offensive talents.

Wonder what's going on and why after 4+ seasons he hasn't taken a 12 footer? There's something to work with here as his form here looks better vs his current free throw shooting form IMO.

I hear you on shooting form, but because his FT% is so low, it makes it hard to believe his 3pt percentage would be comparably good either.

Look at Brook Lopez. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/lopezbr01.html

He didn't take a single 3pt for 5 years and barely any for 3 more after. Then, he suddenly becomes a 3 point shooter in his ninth season. But if you look at his FT%, it was predictable that he could shoot the 3. Was shooting approximately 80% for his entire career from the stripe.

If Mitch wants to shoot 3s he should start by hitting his free throws. I don't really think there is any way around it. Even then, not sure that Thibs style will let him off of box outs.

It's pretty crazy to think that 3 of 5 starters we drafted...and our bench 3 of 4 drafted...and we have a Eurostash PG that will possibly come over next season....and at least 2 FRP's in 2023.

We are in 6th place in the East while other teams that have been building through the draft for years are still lottery teams.

Mitch is so physically dominant in that High School tape it reminds me of RJ's mix tapes from High School.

Well, I can say this because I've seen his jumper personally. And this isn't coming from a HS basketball author , but coming from my own eyes before he was drafted and working out in preparation for draft day. I was actually shocked at how he was warming up or shooting around. Lots of step back jumpers and other jumper type moves you typically see from a guard. I was like who's this big dude shooting like this, he must be preparing for the draft.

So I knew he had this in him, but using that jumper in a real game is different from pickup games or shooting around. Especially at the NBA level. To me it looked like something he's been working on, since todays NBA bigs need a jumpshot, so thats probably why he was practicing on that.

Then when we drafted him, Thibs and his old school style, probably doesn't care too much about Mitch hitting 3s, and rather have Mitch do exactly what he's been doing. So far Mitch is the best offensive rebounding big in the NBA. If he sat on the 3 pt line Turner or other shooting bigs, he would not get the rebounding numbers hes getting right now, but probably wouldn't last long in the NBA. So I'm glad he's rebounding and rim protecting. Thats exactly what this team needs.

I would be thrilled if Mitch developed a 2pt shot, let alone a 3pt shot. Agree that his free throw shooting has to improve.
