Main culprits- just about everybody.

Randle, a lot. RJ, a lot, especially for a player who is supposed to be a good defender. Obi. And Cam.

Some of this is guys just not seeming to pay attention.

Part of it is also these guys don’t seem to understand how they are supposed to react. And I get some guys like Obi and RJ and Cam being new, not having a lot of organized BB or not having been asked to play D because they were excellent offensive talents.

The Knick coach Thibs and his 3 star players (Randle, Barrett, Brunson) did not fix the Knicks defense to win games .. their decision making and performance today are the same as when they gave the OKC Thunder 145 pts last month. The Knicks young-core players were drafted for their defensive talent which they put to use in the Knicks last 4 games given playing time in the same rotation to hold Knicks opponents to under 100 pts a game.

The Summer League games showed us ..
MitchRob had Block Party talent ..
Quickley was a 2-Way combo-guard ..
Obi Toppin was an above the rim player ..
Grimes was a 2-Way talented SG ..
McBride was a defensive-chemistry past-first PG ..
Sims is an athletic 2-Way Big Body center.

The 6 players mentioned above improved their defensive chemistry together in lineups along with Cam Reddish the past offseason to try and get some playing time in the Knicks 2022-23 season, under the stingy 8 or 7-man rotation coach Tom Thibs.

So glad Thibs buried Deuce on the bench or g-league all season last year so Burks could run point 38 minutes a night

Well your going to get people say, deuce wasn’t ready then. If he was the coaching staff would’ve played him. 🤣

Correct me if I’m wrong (I don’t mind) but listening to different knick stations I didn’t realize why deuce started playing. Someone said it was the d.Rose injury that opened that door for deuce. I hope that’s not true but other smart knick hosts who do this for a living agreed. If that’s the case how is that an example of the coaching staff thinks deuce is now ready. Reminds me how grimes got his PT. It was also cause of Rose injury and grimes was just a fill in just like deuce.

Oh well, regardless how we got here, the point is the Knicks are now a team you have to take seriously.

Lou Gehrig didnt get his chance until Wally Pipp was out....maybe Miller Huggins sucked as a manager? Just saying.

OR you could say

If Deuce was ready he wouldnt be shooting 29% and 25% from 3

Those numbers made Frank look like a scorer. If only we could have Deuce in Jr. High he would have helped Melo for sure (if the coaches PLAYED him)

Burks had that great game on the road against the hawks last December and Thibs fell in love with him running point
