Thought Charlotte got a steal on that signing and was upset that we signed EF over him. Love his length and athleticism. His 3pt is volatile so, he is somewhat of a feast or famine. TripleThreat raised issues about his mentality during his FA, which got in my head. Haven't watch closely but haven't seen any drama in Charlotte. I think he works really well with a PG like Melo. After consolidating some of our talent in a more star level trade, he is certainly of the archtype I'd be looking for. He and Reddish make a pretty long and athletic wing pairing, who, if a good shooting coach could get a bit more consistent shooting from, they'd be phenomenal. Age wise, I'd stick with Reddish here unless you clear out the glut at the guard position.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Why would there be interest in trading for Kelly Oubre unless it's to offload Fournier?

He's an inconsistent gunner. But his length and size as well as his 3 pt threat, is what this team needs. He's another Cam type build. Still another roll player to add to our roll players. But I think it's time for a roll player refresh move. Sometimes lateral moves works, once the FO realize which direction we should go and who to build around.

Yes, I agree we need some trade swopping. EF for Oubre....RJ for ? Randle for ?

We have a good team, but we need specialist. We have too many players that can do a lot. But no 3 pt specialist or defensive specialist (Deuce? Cam?) That Thibs will or can play in his 9-10 man rotation.

We made an inexpensive deal for d rose two years ago and it worked wonders. I think the deal that the Knicks were trying to do was mitchell— but they balked. That type of deal may not be around for some time
But guys like sexton and oubre. Possibly both are likely available with oubre being a cheaper ask. We could stay w grimes and reddish but both are not oubre.

He is a talented bonehead. What's the take? What is the fit? Where does he play on this team?
What is his contract?

I liked Oubre but we have a lot of wings that struggle to shoot consistently outside - so why add another that doesn't shoot a higher percentage?

Cam may be able to offer similar production, defensive effort and athleticism anyway. If it was a bigger package and we had to swap out wings to obtain a better player or more picks - then sure!

I would have went after Cam Johnson before he got injured but that ship has sailed.

we are probably closer to winning the lottery than we are to winning a play in game, and we honestly should start behaving like that.

We probably should be sellers and not buyers at this deadline.

We also need to take a close look at RJ and if we can find a buyer of him (doubt it), but I could see selling Toronto on his upside with home cooking/smaller market vs. the pressure of NYC.

The only way we should be a buyer is if we can find a way to turn 2 or 3 of our young talent (Obi, Cam, Robinson, Etc) into a clearly better single player.

I don't know about his game recently, but I do know that the DC area talk radio HOSTS were all upset about him going

I think he's a good complimentary piece, but I am not interested in that. He needs to be more than that. Otherwise, he's just another THJ, EF

It's a little different when you have a healthy Wall and Beal on your team. You're right in saying that he doesn't move the needle much if he comes here.

I wasn't sure if you were agreeing with me or posting a phone number in a foreign country.

I still feel regret at not being able to trade for Mitchell- for all the concerns about his size, I have to imagine we'd have a very similar record to Cleveland.

And the best part of that deal might have been getting rid of RJ, though I suspect Ainge rightly saw him as a dubious talent.

And I should add - if we turned down trading for him, and kept our picks, we better realize quickly that unless there is a miraculous deal out there for a all star caliber player, we should be focused on maximizing our ping pong balls.

The Knicks need better players. Players that are on the cusp of being stars. Like SGA or Zack Lavine. We need to move on from Randle as the main guy. This team lacks leadership. They don’t have the bridge between coach and players. Randle is not that bridge he is whimsical at best. I’m not sure RJ is that guy either because let’s face it consistency is his weakness. He has to consistently perform if he wants the mantle of team leader and claim this team as his. Like Patrick Ewing you knew this was Pat’s team.

I don’t think you will get far adding a Obre. You are still going to be missing “that guy”.

He’s not bad but he’s not an upgrade over Grimes or Reddish.

i'd prefer some 3 point shooter we trust flipping the ball too in key times.

D.Robinson? Bertans? not sure

i don't think we want another guy who seems to need the ball a lot to contribute. We need a guy to play a role which is to punish you if you give him space and forget about him

I'd say Fournier is better than both those guys. Maybe give Svi a shot?

If it's not a trade for a true star who can make a difference, I don't care.
