Both rj and coach thibs have to do a bettter job with the volume of shots. Rj needs to get better looks move the ball more and think about quality of shot. I’m not sure y we had to pay rj so early. I’m not sure a low% player like rj is going to command even close to what we are paying for him. Let these guys hit the market to determine value. 30 mm per marries us to the player— just cannot do that

Nobody on this roster is untouchable but obviously for now some contracts are.

This looks like a bunch of guys on a ten day. Hopefully they put it together but they do not play as a team. And I mean EVEYONE.
Guys seen as having "good" games because their one on one game is on, does not change that.

Brunson 32 points but only 4 assists. Not good
Randle 23 points only 6 rebounds. Not good
IQ 6-17 not good.
RJ 19 points but on 22 shots, in 44 min, 1-7 3pt. Awful.
Defensive rotations. Still awful.

You can be a good team, you just need a who lot of some other talent out there filling the giant holes.

I like both players. Can IQ become a better shooter? Yes- I think he can, his FT% is good. He just needs a lot more practice.

RJ is the real question mark and he may need to take three steps back in terms of trying to be a focus of the offense.

Can we try him back at the 2? What about the 4?

Is Thibs burning him out? Or not getting him to develop? Or is it not that good.

Impossible to be a good team w rj and iq

No it’s impossible to be a good team w fans that have lofty expectations. Fans that create a thread off of a short-term emotional reaction.

It’s impossible to be a good team when:

- fans are expecting the Knicks to be one move away from a championship.
- fans can’t admit that our young core are gleague level players and the rest are nba roll players.

I’ve seen championship teams have bench players similar to our starters. And our bench is their gleague team.

It’s impossible to stay sane if we continue to let wins and losses dictate our day. I remember and still do it now. How my day would be dictated by our wins or losses.

Even when I play ball now at my old age, wins and losses mean nothing. It’s all about the workout snd conditioning. With these Knicks it’s all about the development of players (yoots and vets). Cause we not winning a chip and not sure we make the playoffs.

Can JB lead a championship team? Is he a starting PG on a championship team or a 6 man. I can argue both. Can RJ be consistent? What’s his best skill set and is he working to improve that or still trying to be a 3 pt specialist instead of playing to his strengths (same with Randle). What type of player is Obi? I still don’t know. Is he a dunker a shooter? Can he defend and what position?

Impossible to have a good team when the FO and Thibs are not in sync. Cam is a good example. Thibs didn’t want him. FO traded a pick for him. He sat in thibs dog house all season. now he’s a starter due to injuries and recently got injured himself, so now what is he? EF was a starter and the FO gave him his bag, but is he a thibs type player?

The moral of the story is WINS AND LOSSES are a distraction. We have way more unanswered questions on the direction this club is heading. You can go down the line with each player, the coach, the FO and the owner. So losing a game in overtime means what if all these questions are still unanswered. We still have a jumbled mess. Lipstick on a pig team. Shout out to CP the fanchise!

The RJ hate is reactionary. He earned his contract last seaosn. Don’t believe me? Don’t have to. Its signed, sealed and in the bag. His inefficient numbers league wise is not good but he there with other young players. Only follow the knicks, then its a different look. The sky is falling. Its not the only sky, but its ours. No doubt fans get concerned or lose faith after 20 games. Its nature of the fandom thing.
IQ lose weight? He is not a teen, and had to get stronger. He was never super fast. He is a work in progress. We took a shooter and made a more complete player.
Randle has a good road trip and OBI fades. He looks small out there if he is not jumping. Fans got stoked with his stroke. Where did it go?

We flirting with .500 up or down. That means we no where.
