I hate to agree with this but we won’t become better with him… his arrogance to never adjust the game plan is the reason he never won a chip and never will. When your team scores 130+ points you should never loose the game

Atlanta game
Brooklyn game
OKC game

1/4 of the season ... we had no answer for the other team.

My wife just started watching the Knicks and even she is asking me how the coach doesn't have any alternative strategy/

Very little offensive plays. Seems like less than 10 per game. It's all ISO, all the time. I have seen one PnR per game at most. When our ISOs are not effective we cannot generate points. He is the best coach we have had in a while tho, still. Not sure if it's possible to get someone better. He does have his warts tho

Still too early, but I'm all for tanking. I'll give it another couple of weeks.

These open 3 we are gifting are getting annoying. I don't like Thibs defensive scheme

Too much contenders for the tank this year. We're never going to be bad enough to smell the top 4

I am not calling to tank. Make a coaching change and we can still salvage a playoff spot.

It's a little too early, but its hard to defend a defensive coach that's struggling to get his team to defend.

why fire thibs? Just 13 games in. New group of players. Sure there have been stinkers, but we have beat some teams we should beat that we might have lost to last year.

That is rhetorical!

He had one good year.

I'm worried that RJ is not developing like he should.

Obi is our BEST 3 PT shooter and can't get any time.

Meanwhile- Fournier is out there shooting blanks- I love him, but why?

I think the fact is we need a new voice in the locker room.

We need a different approach on the defensive end that doesn't allow teams to TORCH US!

And we need a coach who is going to get our shooters in a position to shoot. If that is holding a practice where they shoot 100 threes a day, so be it.

Can anyone defend Thibs?

It's the defense franco. Look at the points given up.

Don't worry about purposely tanking. The schedule will take care of it and all of Randall and RJs money go to moves.

I don't think a new coach would be that much better. I think you give Thibs time to get sorted out defensively. You also have to keep in mind that unless the young wildcards on our team show crazy unexpected growth, this teams ceiling is pretty low relative to the rest of the league. Brunson is good, but without a franchise #1 option we can only go so far.

Thibs is inflexible. Giving him more time is just giving him more rope to hang himself while ensuring we go nowhere.

The defense has to change. It is just too easy to score on us. Hopefully, Mitch comes back soon because we miss his defense at the rim. I think guys are overcompensating and playing too far off their man on the perimeter. I think Thibbs earned the right to finish the season but if we miss the play-in tournament, then I think the Knicks have no choice but to fire Thibbs and hire someone else.

They should have fired this a few seasons ago. Now they got Brunson’s dad on his coaching staff and firing thibs has repercussionsbeyond just replacing him.

They need to make some trade too.

But the FO knew defensive COY had very little offensive plays. Heck I knew that b4 we hired him. Thibs allows his players to dictate the offense. Not a lot of structure on that end. But what’s more disturbing is the defense, which supposed to be his specialty. 🤔

He's had 3 years. It's been downhill since year 1.

This is year 2 with most of the players. The defense is worse.

I knew we'd give up a lot of points, after we had that unbelievable first quarter scoring outburst.

the question is when do we fire him. In season or after? if we look like this after 20 games? 30?
